The Office Services Branch includes: Administrative Services' Information Center, Mail Service, Help Desk, Supply Store, Warehouse, Asset Management, Fleet Management, Records Management and the Graphics and Reproduction Unit.

As the Branch Manager, the incumbent is responsible for performing the following duties:

  • Supervises and provides direction to the staff in the Information Center, Mail Operations, Inventory Records Management, Inventory Supply Management, Moves and Set-ups, Help Desk Call Center, Warehouse Operations, and Graphics and Reproduction.

  • Oversees the management of the Courts' vehicle fleet operations to include the planning and coordination of quality inspections, title and registration, routine maintenance, repairs and emergency services and uses fleet management software to track and monitor the various aspects of fleet and driver operations.

  • Plans work schedules and assignments. Oversees attendance and leave requests.

  • Resolves employee complaints, implements limited disciplinary actions and recommends more severe disciplinary actions to the Administrative Officer.

  • Directs on-the-job and cross training for employees and drafts the performance plans and prepares the formal evaluation of employee performance.

  • Initiates a wide range of procurement actions and serves as the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) for a number of supply, inventory, and service contracts.

  • Develops policies and procedures and other written communication for the branch and coordinates the flow of information between Divisions.

  • Prepares the Branch's operating budget for inclusion in the division's annual budget requests.

  • Determines best practices, business processes for efficient and effective customer service.

  • Provides oversight of branch staffing and logistics to ensure effective operations and a safe work environment.

Occasional travel - Travel throughout the DC Courts campus and the Court's warehouse in Cheverly, MD

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in supply operations, fleet management, and records management in an office, public service agency, court, or legal environment plus at least two (2) years of experience as a manager.

The incumbent must have and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's permit/license. Please submit a copy of your Driver's license with your application.

Graduation from the Courts' Management Training Program may substitute for one (1) year of supervisory experience. You must provide documentation of your management training with your application. i.e. copy of certificate.

Management and leadership duties include: employee development and engagement, ongoing coaching, and performance management. Branch Managers are responsible for building the bank's presence in the community and for prospecting and enhancing business relationships. Branch Managers serve as a proactive team members in the M&T Branch system. Branch Managers are the foundation of building customer loyalty through both modeling and coaching the "M&T Way," and are "M&T Way" certified. The "M&T Way" is defined as: * Create a memorable customer experience that will make customers want to come back and do business with YOU! * Do not leave things to chance. * Be the BEST! As certified in "Precision Leadership," Branch Managers actively model and coach the following behaviors (as expected by all Branch team members): acknowledging each customer as they enter the branch, identifying and referring sales opportunities by uncovering financial needs and presenting all options to customers, and following up as needed. RELATIONSHIP BANKING: * Lead and support the branch in achieving its customer retention, acquisition and growth goals. Support will include: achieving personal sales goals (including Insurance revenue and Business Banking), proactively reaching out to customers in assigned retail and/or commercial portfolio, as well as participating and leading branch sales promotions, tracking and celebrating sales success. * Achieve personal sales goals by proactively identifying opportunities utilizing the fundamentals of the "M&T Way" sales process. Nature and Scope: Branch Manager leadership responsibilities typically are one of the following: Multi-site Branch, Tier 1, 2, or 3 Branch, or 2nd level Manager at a tier 4 or 5 Branch. This position reports to a Retail Regional Manager, Commercial Branch Manager, or Senior Branch Manager and leads the branch team to achieve annual sales and profitability goals, and has a sound working knowledge of the overall operations of the branch. Branch Managers have the responsibility to establish and maintain federal registration requirements outlined in the SAFE Act. Branch Managers must stay current on operational, product, and system changes/enhancements, as well as demonstrate good risk management decisions. At Market Manager discretion/branch need, Life/Accident and Health Insurance licensing required within 12 months of entry into position. Note: branch provides training for licensing within 6 months.
