Minimum Knowledge, Skill, and/or Education/Training Required: Bank managers act as the face of the organization in their local community, they manage junior staff, serve customers in branch, over the phone and via the internet, set sales targets for lower level employees, complete management reports and other paperwork as required.

A bank manager is responsible for the daily operation of the financial institute. The manager is directly responsible for the staff that works in the bank from training to the supervision. Since this is a very critical aspect of the job the bank manager must be able to communicate well to employees, plus be able to provide adequate supervision and training to ensure that all employees follow standard bank procedure for handling money and for working with the customers.

The bank manager is also responsible for increasing or maintaining the deposits on hand at the bank. Bank managers work closely with the branch administration and marketing team. The bank manager may also work on increasing other aspects of the bank's business such as the loan department, the investment consultants, or even the mortgage and finance divisions of the bank.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Plan and schedule work, instruct and train in methods, check and approve work, carry out performance evaluations, make recommendations regarding unsatisfactory employees.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Training and supervising all staff that works within the bank. Completing all necessary security checks and reference checks for potential employees. Developing new marketing programs or incentives to increase the deposits and services offered by the bank.

  • Following all bank policies as determined by the board of directors or bank president or owner. Addressing and handling customer complaints, discrepancies in accounts or shortages from the various tills or teller areas of the bank. Evaluate financial reporting systems, accounting or collection procedures, or investment activities and make recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets, or other financial control functions.

  • Providing assistance to bank clients and making sure that they are satisfied with bank services now and in the future. Branch managers also drum up business via outside sales meetings and create a friendly environment in their branch that keeps customers and employees happy, and keeps the business and deposit base growing.

  • Bank branch managers oversee the sales and operations on a daily basis, and are also responsible for business development with small- and medium-size businesses. They are ultimately responsible for the profitability and productivity of the branch. Examine, evaluate, or process loan applications.

A bank branch manager needs to be a leader, a multitasker, a problem-solver and be goal-oriented. Plan, direct, or coordinate the activities of workers in branches, offices, or departments of establishments, such as branch banks, brokerage firms, risk and insurance departments, or credit departments. Establish and maintain relationships with individual or business customers or provide assistance with problems these customers may encounter.

SUMMARY: The Assistant General Manager (AGM) assists the General Manager (GM) with managing the profit, merchandise, operations and Team Members at their assigned A.C. Moore location. The person in the role must display leadership that will create an exceptional environment for customers and Team Members and must lead by example in providing excellent customer service to drive an experience that exceeds customer expectations. The AGM looks for in-stock and merchandising opportunities by reviewing various reports. This position has knowledge of seasonal trends, industry trends, and the competitive market landscape. The AGM reviews the Profit & Loss line items and makes recommendations on ways to improve performance in his/her store. This position assists in executing advertising, profit management, and shrink reduction in the store. This position impacts the company by leading the store to success. When the General Manager is not present, the AGM is responsible for the entire store. This Team Member must act with the A.C. Moore Values in mind: People, integrity, desire to be the best, passion, enthusiasm and new ideas. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Responsible for creating a customer focused atmosphere in the store. Developing positive customer relations will set the standard for Team Members. * Ensure purchases are processed with speed and accuracy by Team Members with a friendly demeanor, and recovering the store consistently to provide a positive shopping experience. * Communicate and drive all corporate and store initiatives to Team Members via daily huddle meetings. * Personally walks side counters daily to ensure in stock position and P.I. accuracy. * Drive marketing and advertising by maximizing product displays and placement. * Drive Reward Card sign-ups to meet company expectations. * Manage the essential job functions of all positions within the store. * Assist the GM in recruiting, developing, training, and retaining effective Team Members. * Manage Team Members effectively by providing constant feedback on performance. * Develops Supervisor(s) to perpetuate strong AGM bench strength for the company. * Responsible for payroll functions as needed. * Ensure that displays are merchandised neatly with correct pricing and optimal planner placement within the store. * Assists GM planning seasonal transitions and manages liability product sell through.
