Mandatory Requirements

Enhances current and ensures positive on-going/future referring physician relationships utilizing telephone, email, written correspondence and sales calls. Responsible for establishing long-term business relationships, developing and leading specific account strategies, managing all aspects of new referral activities, account retention and growth with the goal of generating new physician referrals. Partners with Practice leadership to represent and develop strategy for promoting Mayo Clinic and assigned service lines both internally and externally. Utilizes data sources to plot existing and potential referring physician activity and establish leads for future sales calls. Minimum of 50 % travel required, including some overnights. Geography varies by location with typically two to three days of regional site visits per week required. Liaison site visit types may include cold calling, follow-up, physician accompanied meetings, phone calls and one-to-one sales calls. Site visits may require hosting breakfast, lunch or dinner meetings Follow-up is required and includes documentation of contact activity in various systems, including CRM. Works closely with the RPO/ERPO, Department/Division/Practice Chairs, Operations Administrators, e-Health Enrollment, and Central Appointment Office staff to present a clear and consistent message to referring physicians and Mayo Clinic Care Network (MCCN) members about Mayo Clinic: our clinical, education, and research services. Liaison will also represent Mayo Clinic and e-Health at several Continuing Medical Education (CME) and medical society meetings each year , which requires securing exhibit space, setup, teardown and staffing of the Mayo Clinic booth during all exhibit hours. The physician liaison is responsible for conducting and executing the orientation and training of the referral portal to referring providers. The liaison assists with eHealth services including eConsults and eTumor for Mayo Clinic Care Network members. The Physician Liaison provides consultative services to MCCN members for revising workflow and systems in order to implement new products and services. The liaison is responsible for developing and maintaining an intensive understanding of each member by establishing long standing relationships. Liaison is expected to market and implement new programs for referring providers and MCCN members as required by leadership. Liaison must feel comfortable trouble shooting and navigating through clinical and administrative issues. Foresight is needed to proactively address customer concerns and prioritize opportunities to improve delivery of service, as well as provide service recovery. Accessibility and timely response to customers and Mayo staff is essential. Qualifications Requires a Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, health promotion, health care, public relations, communications, management, or related degree plus 3 to 4 years experience working in a healthcare clinic setting, or marketing, public relations, communications, sales or customer relations management position, preferably in healthcare setting. Must demonstrate ability to function and work in a diverse work environment while selling Mayo services (physician referrals) and providing direction to referring physicians in a concise, sensitive, informative and professional manner. Must have and maintain excellent knowledge base of Mayo services, reimbursement relationships and service expectations. Additional qualifications Sales experience preferred. Experience in health care preferred. Familiarity with data-mining within referral database and CRM is preferred. Experience with electronic medical record and scheduling systems preferred. Must be able to problem solve and exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing. Communication style must be clear, concise, and professional. Excellent interpersonal communication skills required. Ability to effectively interact with all levels, including C-suite required. Comfort level with Web based technology. Frequent travel required. Valid and unrestricted driver's license. Exemption status Exempt Compensation Detail Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2644.00, based on a full-time position.
