Vertex Distribution is Seeking a Branch Manager (Sales) for the Houston Office!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of the inside and outside sales team members in furtherance of aggressive growth

  • Engage in sales calls with principals, owners, and managers of targeted customer base

  • Create, develop, lead and deploy sales goals and metrics for inside and outside team

  • Ability to negotiate pricing with key customers and also provide negotiation assistance when necessary to sales team members

  • Perform managerial control over branch activity ranging from sales to operations to accounting, personnel & office administration

  • Resolve any challenges or issues arising on customer orders, supply chain items, vendor relations, deliveries, etc.

  • Work in conjunction with teams across marketing, purchasing, logistics, credit, A/P, and executive office staff

  • Aid in the maintaining of key external relationships with suppliers / vendors

  • Ensure appropriate controls are adhered to for accounting and credit purposes

  • Coordinate with key staff on operational activities, create and report on KPIs at the branch level

  • Keep in contact with the Vice President of Sales to ensure metrics and goals are met

  • Communicate issues and present solutions to those issues to appropriate management team(s)

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-4 years of Sales experience (preference given to fastener industry sales)

  • Previous supervisory experience, especially in a Sales function (is a plus, not mandatory)

  • Understanding of creating, deploying, and measuring sales goals

  • Good oral, written, and electronic communication skills

  • Working knowledge of distribution and its end user channel

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems and conflicts

  • Basic knowledge of profit & loss responsibility
