Directs the overall performance of a Distribution Center including operations, customer service, administration, systems, and human resources. Responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing finished goods. Uses computerized systems to monitor stock levels for the specific distribution center, then fulfills customer orders, ships and delivers merchandise to customer warehouse, wholesale or retail outlets.

Branch Manager Job Description

Position Summary

Manages and directs activities of company distribution warehouse and light manufacturing by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage all branch operations to ensure customer satisfaction while meeting other company goals, including the training and work assignments for all branch team members.

  • Financial responsibility for branch performance, including the budgeting, warehouse, and branch production departments and the maintenance of control procedures and documents.

  • Works closely with supply chain team to build branch stocking and inventory levels to provide required service levels with appropriate investment in inventory.

  • Continuous improvement of branch performance, particularly in sales growth, branch productivity and efficiencies, inventory management, safety, and staff development.

  • Responsible for branch safety program and activities and committed to returning each employee home in the same condition in which they arrived at the branch.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers. Communicate customer related issues to key stakeholders and influencers in Atlas.

  • Lead the Lean manufacturing culture transformation within the Branch

  • Works with President and Director of Operations in building company and floor leaders.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position maintains full supervisory responsibility for the branch facility and all activities and operations at that facility. This includes the management of the team members within the Paint Department, Shipping Department and Closure Department and the overall performance of these areas. This position directly supervises approximately 25 non-supervisory employees in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and Four years related experience and/or training, including prior safety training and experience with low process intensity manufacturing, kitting, painting or related activities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as company budgets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook; have knowledge of ERP systems including inventory control and order processing; Internet knowledge.
