Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Branch Manager in our Modesto, CA location. This location sells Waterworks products.

This position leads local operations of this location which includes a counter sales team and warehouse. The successful candidate will establish relationships with customers in Modesto, to grow the sales of Waterworks products.

Position Details

  • Reports to General Manager

  • Direct oversight of 10+ associates


  • Provide leadership for the organization's customer-facing associates and branch functions

  • Develop a team with focus on customer service, policy, and strategy implementation

  • Run the overall operation of a branch location including hiring, coaching, and scheduling of employees to ensure efficient and quality branch operations

  • Maintain inventories at adequate levels, promote sales, and maintain the appearance of the branch

  • Build and maintain an environment of engagement by listening to feedback from leaders, associates, and customers and implementing solutions to solve problems

  • Analyze store data and identify areas of opportunity, and implement solutions to continuously improve the overall performance of the location

  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to all safety policies, rules, regulations, and procedures


  • 2+ years leadership/management experience is preferred

  • Prior Waterworks industry experience is strongly preferred

  • Ability to lead and empower individuals and teams

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task, and effectively lead through stressful situations

  • Proven track record to use data and metrics to implement effective solutions

  • Demonstrated success in problem solving and delivering results

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)

This is a high-responsibility leadership role that supports the Branch Manager.</p><p>As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will be responsible for handling transactions, identifying areas of need, and developing new account relationships while expanding existing ones. You won't have formal management duties, but you will fill in for the Branch Manager in their absence, and guide branch staff on sales, services, and lobby management.</p><p>Broad responsibilities mean this is a role that's never boring. One day you might coordinate sales activities. The next day you might accept items for collection, lead end-of-day activities, and handle vault duties. Other fundamental parts of the job will include transaction processing, new account sales, customer servicing, and referral generation.</p><p>As the Branch Manager's second-in-command, you'll give input on hiring, staff Human Resource matters, annual performance targets, and evaluation feedback.
