Summary

The Branch Manager is responsible for overall branch leadership and performance, with a focus on building, supporting, and expanding relationships with Dime's small business clients. S/he will work directly and indirectly with our clients and partners to identify and implement optimal, client- focused solutions. S/he will create a professional, talented team dedicated to achieving Dime's short- and long-term objectives.

Responsibilities

Sales

  • Develop sales plans that are aligned with overall business targets and priorities; communicate priorities and promotions to team members.

  • Plan micro-marketing activities in coordination with Regional Director and small business partners.

  • Drive outbound sales activities, including building a referral network and relationships with COI's and business customers; represent Dime in the community.

  • Stay informed about local market dynamics, competitor actions and customer trends.

  • Drive individual production goals with target customers.

  • Deepen profitable small business relationships by introducing cash management, digital, and lending solutions that meet client needs.

Customer Service

  • Ensure customers receive high quality service through ongoing coaching and monitoring of branch team activities and direct interactions with customers.

Operational Excellence

  • Monitor and adhere to operational controls, including legal, corporate and regulatory policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of customer and bank assets.

  • Continually seek ways to improve operational processes and performance.

  • Internal and External Partners

Internal and External Development

  • Cultivate relationships with business bankers to review their respective results and pipelines, drive sales and ensure all customer needs are met.

  • Accompany business bankers at networking events and customer meetings.

  • Engage in structured sales reviews and sales planning processes with Regional Director.

  • Build relationships with key partners and leaders in the community.

People and Team Development

  • Inspire and create a motivating environment through coaching, mentoring, morning huddles, end-of-day meetings; role model the desired behaviors.

  • Set expectations for branch employees, and hold employees accountable for results.

  • Promptly address performance issues, working with retail leadership and HR as appropriate.

  • Lead hiring, performance management, compensation, communication and evaluation of branch staff.

  • Coordinate staff schedule and review overall staffing plan.

  • Lead and coach business bankers; facilitate meetings to enable business bankers to exchange insights and integrate service; ensure business bankers are fully integrated into the branch.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and banking experience

  • Minimum 5 years' banking experience , with at least 3 years' managerial experience

  • Proven track record of driving sales, both individually and as leader of a sales team

  • Proven ability to build high performing sales and operations teams

  • Demonstrated success influencing and leading across all levels of an organization

  • Business banking experience, credit skills (preferred)

  • Customer service orientation

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in times of change

  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of banking industry and operations

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills

Ensure the effective implementation of a Wealth Management-led Premium Bank strategy to drive and grow profitable Premier, Advance and Business Banking relationships while continuing to support and enhance our retail client base. Thiswill be achieved through the consistent sale and servicing of financial service products within the branch. Accountable for the implementation of face-to-face delivery of the RBWM plan, including overall structure, sales goals, profitability,performance and leads/sales prospect management. A retail bank branch may be one standalone branch or a main branch with a smaller satellite branch.
