Summary Description

The SAP BPC administrator will drive the financial reporting & planning success and is responsible for the administration of the BPC application. The SAP BPC administrator will manage all BPC administrative duties and ensure stability, completeness and accuracy of the data, reports and templates within the BPC models. The BPC administrator will serve as the primary user interface between Finance, Sales Operations, Manufacturing and IT functions for all BPC activities.

Administrative Duties:

  • Prepare and facilitate the financial plan and forecast cycles and month end activities within BPC in partnership with Finance, Sales Operations, Manufacturing

  • Responsible for managing data integrity and other systems administration tasks, proactively solving problems and ensuring accuracy and completeness of the financial and management reports and supporting data, metadata, configuration, and business rules within (BPC).

  • Manage all BPC maintenance activities including:

  • the preparation of tool/input templates

  • execute clear, load, copy processes and planning template set ups

  • validate and reconcile logic scripts to ensure data integrity

  • refresh and validate data loads within source model and summary models

  • update and maintain dimensions and hierarchies in BPC for approved SAP master data changes and process dimensions as required

  • security design and administration

  • Prepare and maintain up to date (BPC) process and system documentation, data controls, refresh and month-end checklists and end user training materials in collaboration with the process owners.

  • Update and maintain dimensions, hierarchies, and data elements in (BPC) for approved data/metadata changes and process(es) as required

  • Create and prepare reports and input templates as well as update the report library based on master/meta data changes.

  • Draft functional and technical BPC related enhancements for BPC Application Developer and partner with Developer on unit testing and migration to production.

  • Partner with Forecasting Operations Lead and BPC Application Developer on issues and opportunities for overall application improvements and risk mitigation.

  • Prioritize workload in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Create new module designs to support new or changing business needs

  • Draft functional and technical BPC related new business requirements for BPC Application Developer and partner with Developer on unit testing and migration to production.

  • Assess and communicate accounting/finance impact assessments of master/meta data and business rule updates

  • Research and analyze business need options and recommend effective solutions

  • Validate solution design, testing and implementation of BPC system updates and business enhancements

Engagement with Customers

  • Responsible for creating reports and input templates that are accurate, efficient and easily updated by the user.

  • Interact with Finance, Sales and Manufacturing departments to ensure that information is captured and reported correctly by leveraging experience, insights, controls and checklists.

  • Provide cross-functional leadership to identify, prioritize, and solve problems quickly and efficiently

  • Be an evangelist and end user trainer to facilitate high engagement and accurate use of application.

  • Effectively communicate and facilitate process requirements, procedures, system updates and address issues/questions to stakeholders and end users

General Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. in MIS, Business Administration, Accounting or Computer Science

  • 3-5 years' experience working as a SAP BPC administrator/developer supporting a finance organization.

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, reporting, and acumen to understand and meet business stakeholder needs.

  • Experience leading the developing and sustain ongoing processes for the annual budget and forecast processes that include incorporation of FX rates, headcount, labor and corporate assumptions

  • Experience with the preparation of financial decks and presentations for all elements of the financial statements and management reports.

  • Strong analytical and technical capabilities to effectively manage and optimize the BPC models

Technical Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge and experience with SAP BPC performing all administrative functions.

  • Advanced proficiency/guru level skills in MS Excel (including Macros, VBA, complex formulas).

  • Strong finance and accounting knowledge including financial statements, exchange rates, etc.

  • Strong analytical, financial modeling and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to efficiently and effectively validate large sets of data for accuracy and completeness.

Engagement Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams and discuss complex accounting and finance subjects with finance non-financial personnel

  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects timely and accurately

  • Team player and self-motivated appreciation for continuous improvement

  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization in fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to effectively present findings to management in a clear and concise manner

  • Able to work independently, with minimal supervision

Preferred, but not required:

  • Basic knowledge of BW/BPS reporting system

  • Experienced user of SAP-ECC and SAP Business Warehouse

  • Able to extract pertinent data from SAP BW system to support duties

  • SAP BusinessObjects (SAP Business Explorer (BEx); SAP BusinessObjects Analysis for Microsoft Office; SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence)
