Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that creates opportunities for people to achieve economic stability and to build strong communities by offering job training, employment services and other community-based programs for people who have disabilities, lack education or job experience or face other employment challenges. Goodwill provides services to a 10 county area in Northeast Indiana.
As a Driver, you can expect to participate in the pick up and delivery of donated goods. Some of the duties include:
Driving the truck to scheduled points using the most efficient routes.
Interacting with donors, accepting donations and providing receipts.
With the help of a Material Handler, you will load and unload the truck in a fashion that prevents damage to donated items and permits the best use of space.
Completing any necessary paperwork.
May perform other duties, such as operate a forklift, baler & compactor; pre-sort donations, etc. as needed in support of Goodwill's mission.
To be eligible for consideration, drivers must posses:
A valid Chauffeur's license, "For Hire" Endorsement or CDL (with good driving record)
The ability to pass a DOT physical
Have a least one year of truck driving experience
Be able to lift, push or pull heavy objects.
Be available to work weekends.
This is a full time first shift position (8AM-430PM), with weekends hours included in the schedules. The starting pay is $13-$14 per hour, depending on experience. Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, holiday pay and 401-K.
