Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following):

  • Understand and perform job duties to the expectations of BOURBON STEAK and MARRIOTT Service, Food, Beverage and Wine manuals

  • Perform all side work applicable to assigned station

  • Participate in Pre-Shift meetings and learn new menu items

  • Welcome all guests and ensure guests receive responsive, professional and gracious service at all times

  • Answer any questions about the menu, specific food items, the wine list or any other inquiries the guest may have

  • Liaise with server to ensure communication at all times about wants and needs of guests

  • Escort guests to their table. Helps them into their seats

  • Answers phone and takes reservations

  • Communicates reservation flow with the back of house. (ICOs)

  • Maintains cleanliness of restaurant entrance

  • Checks coats and maintains coat check room in a neat and organized manner

  • Responsible for maintaining the printing and cleanliness of all menus

  • Posts daily floorplans and side work duties.

  • Stocking supplies ie: matches, business cards, toothpicks

  • Maintain a clean, safe environment all times in the Dining Room and all service stations

  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant employees and guests

  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English

  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process

  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Must possess basic computational ability

  • Must possess basic computer skills

  • Must be familiar with OpenTable or similar reservation system

  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment

Education:

  • High school or equivalent education required

Typical Physical / Mental Demands:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit for prolonged periods of time

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch

  • Must use hands to reach, grasp, handle, pull and push

  • Must have good near and far vision

  • Must be able to hear, talk, smell

Job Description To wait on tables promptly, courteously and to serve the guest in any way possible. To follow, enforce, comply and adhere to all Bob's Steak & Chop House rules, policies, procedures, and standards at all times. Responsibilities * Servicing all guests in the dining room in every way possible, ensuring the best possible experience in hopes that they will return * To comply with attendance and punctuality standards. * To comply with uniform standards. * To properly set up entire restaurant. * To have complete understanding of server standards. * To have a complete understanding of the menu, wine service, and beverage offerings. * To take food and drink orders. * To ring orders accurately in POS system. * To deliver food and beverage accurately to tables and in a timely manner. * Be friendly and helpful with all guests. Use surnames whenever possible. * To comply with food handling standards and applicable liquor laws. * Run food to all sections of the restaurant and bar. * To complete all assigned duties before checking out and clocking out. * Inspecting and manicuring one's station in the restaurant to ensure that it is immaculate in both cleanliness and presentation. * Station set-up and breakdown/side-work. * Perform any other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager * Shift accounting, printing of reports at the end of the shift and banking out. Qualifications * Minimum 1 year fine dining serving experience, preferably in a steak house. * Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines. * Previous cash handling experience required. * Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers. * Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS. * Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor. * Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department. * Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast paced environment. * Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem solving skills. * Must be TABC certified. * Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays. * Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, and twisting. Must be able to stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments.
