Black Hills State University Bookstore is seeking a full-time Bookstore Buyer.

Duties:

• Responsible for ordering merchandise for store and special events

• Select vendor and negotiate pricing

• Receive merchandise

• Generate invoice for payment

• Merchandise/display/promotions

• Schedule and meet with clothing vendors

• Create and maintain inventory records

• Process special orders for departments/customer

• Supervise and direct work of student employees

• Write weekly schedules for student employees

• Run register

• Plan and execute social media platforms

• Ensure PCI compliance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting practices;

• Knowledge of college bookstore purchasing practices;

• Understanding of merchandising and product presentation;

• Knowledge of invoicing, shipment receiving, inventory procedures, and product return;

• Ability to communicate effectively with the faculty, students and university staff;

• Ability to exercise tact in dealing with customers.

Preferred:

• Two years retail experience strongly preferred.
