Job Summary:

Preferred experience: Bookkeeping experience in a Credit Union environment

Performs teller duties in a manner that is flexible with the operational needs of the Credit Union. Must be bondable by liability insurance coverage.


  • Posts all daily incoming and outgoing transmission files.

  • Posts entries to the general ledger and assures that the credit union stays in balance and compliant with all applicable laws and the National Credit Union Administration's (NCUA) accepted accounting practices.

  • Responsible for balancing the credit union Corporate One accounts and all other accounts that must be reconciled on a monthly basis.

  • Gathers all information needed for preparation of Financial Statements.

  • Presents monthly reports to the Board of Directors at monthly meetings.

  • Gathers all information for the NCUA quarterly Call Report.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent required.

  • Associate's degree preferred.


  • None required.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Good organizational skills and flexibility to assist as needed with the operational needs of the credit union.

  • Requires strong customer service skills.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Bookkeeper role required.

  • Offset: Associates degree and no experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.

  • Occasional lifting or carrying 5 to 15 pounds.

  • May require periods of extensive sitting, standing, or walking.

  • Must have normal or correction vision.

  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
