Accountemps has an immediate need for a talented Bookkeeper. If you have worked with A/P, A/R, General ledger, and financial reporting, then you may be the right candidate for this Bookkeeper opportunity. This short term temporary-to-fulltime position is a great opportunity for a Bookkeeper who wants to work in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma area. Your responsibilities in this role

  • Oversee and maintain a well-run system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; define bookkeeping policies and procedures

  • Balance accounts by reconciling entries

  • Assemble financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information

  • Uphold quality historical records by filing documents

  • Design Accounts Receivable invoices, analyzing payments received, and record deposits

  • Manage and review general ledger

  • Maintain accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions

Must have Counterpoint Software experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION - REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of bookkeeping for each year of the required degree PLUS one year of experience in performing professional accounting experience. ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Prior state agency accounting and PeopleSoft experience preferred KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES * Professional level work in the maintenance, auditing and management of financial accounting data * Knowledge of the procedures and techniques of financial, budget and expenditure reports and preparation of basic financial statements * Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations, as they pertain to education finance * Skill in accurate data entry; proficiency in the use of a 10-key calculator by touch; * Ability to exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and making decisions; maintain confidentiality; to organize and present facts and opinions clearly and concisely; to follow instructions; to establish effective working relations with fellow employees, local school officials, and the general public; to exercise tact, courtesy, and initiative; * Knowledge of office technology and applications like Excel, Word and PowerPoint and grants management software * Commitment and willingness to provide courteous and efficient service through the performance of the prescribed job duties. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED * Maintain agency's chart of accounts * Maintain and reconcile grant accounts, monitor expenditures and generate reports for Grant Directors * Audit and post claims * Responsible for the calculation and preparation of payments of federal funds to school districts in Oklahoma * Reconcile revenues and expenses at the end of each month; Perform related work as required and assigned. * Assist with budget work programs and revisions * Assist with audit requests * Monitor cash balances and cash flow of federal programs; prepare monthly financial statements.
