Job Summary
The Booking Manager reviews and responds to business opportunities to sell space and negotiate contract terms at the Bojangles Coliseum, Ovens Auditorium, and the East Charlotte Room. Maintains client relationships for repeat business.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties
Create, develop, and enhance promoter relationships while booking events at Bojangles Entertainment Complex.
Responds to business leads issued by Website, Visit Charlotte, email, phone, and direct inquiries.
Research history for new events to host at Bojangles Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium.
Develops and coordinates with various departments, to create customized proposals for clients to ensure potential customer is excited to host event at the complex.
Oversee the venue event calendars to include all events and scheduled repairs and maintenance.
Assist in completing settlements, event P&L, forecasts and budgets for department.
Create event estimates for prospective clients.
Review and update booking policies, procedures and collateral material as needed.
Review, update and maintain industry memberships and reporting in organizations like Pollstar, Venue Coalition, IAVM, APAP, IEBA, etc.
Coordinate and lead site visit tours of the complex for prospective clients.
Greets client when they arrive on-site and checks in to ensure event is running smoothly.
Follow up with clients after event to express gratitude, ensure satisfaction, solicit feedback and attempt to book future dates.
Issue contract requests and negotiate contracts to close the business.
Negotiate space modifications/date changes with client and issue amendment requests.
Respond to client complaints and negate any issues onsite involving the General Manager as needed.
Maintain accurate revenue projections in all bookings.
Assist in preparing Fiscal Year revenue forecast for budgeting by completing event profiles and updating revenue projections.
May perform other duties as required.

Scope of Responsibility
This job is responsible for budgetary analysis, preparation, and review.
This job will have periodic access to confidential data including financial statements, organization records and/or minutes, and customer quotes.
Supervisory Responsibility
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret RFP's (requests for proposals), general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write proposals, reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, industry peers, and the general public.
Effective communication, analytical and administrative skills.
Good organizational skills to manage multiple projects / deadlines.
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
Strong interpersonal skills, able to handle stress well.
Willingness to work nights, weekends and holiday for events.
Proven track record in business development.
Ability to anticipate customer needs, builds positive relationships with customers and contractors, goes the extra mile to satisfy and exceed customer needs, treats all customers and contractors with highest degree of respect and courtesy, and delivers exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Education and Experience
Minimum education level: BA/BS degree in related field
Minimum 1-2 years of related work experience in similar venues
Knowledge of Event operations, Marketing and Box office
Experience managing a venue event calendar with booking software preferred
Ungerboeck experience preferred
Momentus Elite/Event Booking experience preferred
Physical Demands
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
