Essential Responsibilities:

As a booker you know what it takes to get the exclusive and high level of interest in lifestyle, business news, entertainment, pop-culture, current events and cultural stories that generate buss that will allow you excel in this role. Assist to contribute entertaining lifestyle content for a lively innovative morning lifestyle show " CA Live". This ground-breaking show engages with audience members across California. Research, identify, and book high-profile guests and arrange transportation Develop relationships with top-tier talent and guests Establish and maintain contacts, develop sources, make appropriate calls, and secure interviews and access of the highest level Identify and pitch stories and guests appropriate for the show Work with a small show team on story planning, pitch process, and feature segments Conduct pre-interviews with guests Respond quickly to breaking news during and after regular hours Plan future events and story coverage Ensure clear project communication Manage multiple on-going projects Managing daily deadline turnarounds of a live show Secure appropriate rights and clearances for video usage Research and secure shooting locations Other duties as assigned



Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or related field, or equivalent work experience in television production

Creative mindset and keen interest in lifestyle and pop culture content

Experience creating compelling lifestyle content

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to think fast and react to unpredicted timelines

Creative thinking and a passion for news and current events

Availability via email or phone during off-hours or weekends, as needed for breaking news or other changes to the show lineup

Desire to pursue excellence in a fast-paced high pressure environment

Prompt, positive, and responsible with great attention to detail

VIEW JOBS 9/24/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-12-23T00:00 Responsibilities Overview Within the growing Universal Brand Development group, the Sr. Manager Games/Live Events Accounting will be a member of the Controllership team ensuring proper accounting through the design, implementation and monitoring of effective policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with ASC 606 and SOX section 404 standards. Job Duties: * Manage the accounting for all aspects of games and live events including co-investment structures * Compile and maintain audit quality supporting documentation for NVL (name voice likeness) for talent and brands * Liaison with Legal, Participations, and Category teams to validate pass through rights. * Calculate NVL on a participant by IP basis * Generate reports for NVL participation pay-outs * Serve as point of contact for participant audits * Establish best practices for earned royalty accrual estimation, validation and recognition in accordance with US GAAP * Maintain the RSG and TBT (actual and forecasting contract management systems respectively) Enhancement Lists for Games and Live Events from a Controllership perspective and monitor progress with IT through testing, validation and exception reporting * Partner with FP&A to ensure transparency and accuracy in the quarterly earned revenue and cost accrual process, in addition to supporting quarterly Pacing, Long Range Planning, Forecasting, Budgeting and Variance Analysis as it pertains to revenue estimation and reporting * Collaborate with the Games and Live Event teams to improve the licensee forecasting and revenue accrual processes * Remain current on new and emerging US GAAP guidance, trends and techniques as well as new contractual and operational arrangements to ensure that UBD's revenue recognition policies remain current and accurate. * Prepare technical accounting deal memos for game and live events arrangements * Own the quarter-end reporting and reconciliation process for earned royalty revenue with respect to Games and Live Events and related accounts * Establish and track operational and performance based KPIs * Serve as point for external and internal audit and review of Games and Live Events related account Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications: * Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field * CPA and/or MBA preferred * Minimum 5 years of experience in finance and/or accounting Additional Job Requirements: * Willingness to work overtime and on weekends with short notice * Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA Eligibility Requirements: Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program Desired Characteristics Desired Characteristics: * Excellent data analytical skills * Advanced Excel skills * Working experience with SAP * Experience with Consumer Products entity strongly desired; experience with a royalty (licensing) based business preferred * Team player with good interpersonal skills * Proactive approach to problem solving * Strong work ethic and follow-throughs NBC Universal Universal City CA
