Compensation Range: $24.04 - $28.01/hrClosing Date: Open until filled
Operate, maintain, repair and install heating, ventilating, air conditioning, steam/hot water boilers and other related equipment throughout county Parks facilities. To complete preventive maintenance, and assist in emergency maintenance and other duties as needed to ensure code compliance, along with preservation, enhancement, and protection of department assets.
Make routine stops at various park facilities to monitor operation and performance of a wide variety of mechanical systems; i.e., heating, ventilation, air conditioning, steam/hot water boilers, air compressors and other related systems/equipment.
Record and document equipment readings, and conduct testing and chemical treatment on boilers, closed loop systems, cooling towers, etc. Keep detailed records of maintenance operations.
Inspect, trouble shoot and perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance, while monitoring operation and performance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, steam, boilers and other related systems/equipment.
Respond to daily emergency calls/work orders for equipment failures. Respond to overnight and weekend on-call emergencies on a shared rotating basis.
Utilize a variety of different BAS systems to ensure correct system operation.
To write work orders for and communicate with other building trades on various equipment/facility issues; coordinate with outside vendors in the repair and maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, steam, boilers and other related equipment.
Process purchase requests, inventory supplies, process work orders, review blueprints, building codes, and technical manuals. Maintain equipment logs and assist with project management. Assist in creating PM schedules.

Required Education, License/Certification and Experience
High school diploma or GED required
Associate degree in HVAC or HVAC-related apprenticeship program and three (3) years or more of HVAC system experience OR HVAC certification and five (5) or more years of job-related experience required
Type I, II, III or Universal CFC/EPA Handler (refrigerant handling) certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
Valid Wisconsin Driver's License required and must be maintained throughout employment
Possess and maintain one (1) of the following licenses:
ASOPE Facility Operating Engineer 2nd Class
Power Plant Operational Engineer 3rd Class
NIULPE 4th Class Engineer
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Push, pull, lift and carry up to 50lbs on a consistent basis.
Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions hot, cold, snow, rain etc.
Work flexible schedules with the ability to be on call
Climb ladders and work at heights up to 99 feet.
Good communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with other trades and contractors
Computer literate (WORD, EXCEL, etc.)
Read construction drawings and understand specifications
