Position Overview

Under the direction of the Body Shop Manager / Service Manager, the Body Shop Technician performs major repairs from start to finish on damaged vehicles, including mechanical repairs, body panel replacement or repair, refinishing of repaired areas and prep for delivery to customer.

Performance Objectives

Repair mechanical and truck body damage.

Prepare truck for customer presentation and delivery.

At times may assist with mechanical repairs, painting and maintenance work on Heavy Duty Trucks.

At times help out with installation of mechanical components.

All other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required, additional trade school training preferred.

Two (2) years of related truck or body shop repair experience preferred.

Mechanical and refinishing knowledge required.

Valid driver's license required; CDL required, or ability to obtain.

Dependable and reliable attendance required.

VIEW JOBS 3/11/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-09T00:00 Description: Position Summary: A Penske Body Shop Technician III will, under supervision, perform minor truck and trailer component repair or replacement. Assist Technician I and II in the removal, replacement, and repair of major components. Major Responsibilities: * Perform the following repairs or replacements: Minor electrical system repairs, Surface preparation for refinishes, Minor Cab Accessory repair/ replacement, Minor Cargo Box repairs * Pick up and delivery of vehicles * Maintain work area appearance and safety * Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor Qualifications: * 2 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of related education and experience) required * High School Diploma or equivalent required * Vocational/technical school preferred * Certification of completion of technical school specializing in the repair/refinish of all series of truck and trailer preferred * Working knowledge of tools of trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) required * Current CDL with air brake certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire required * Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job * Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
