Job Summary: Responsible for resolving most unplanned stops and maintaining high product quality standards.

Understanding cell sequences, performing quality assurance actions, and conducting preventive maintenance tasks. Additionally, responsibilities include documenting volume losses, ensuring compliance with established processes, and conducting root cause analysis for machinery failures. Emphasizes continuous improvement, readiness of backup equipment, and managing specialized projects as assigned. Responsibilities:

Taking full ownership of the assigned production area, ensuring optimal performance of all equipment and peripheral systems, and resolving 80-85% of unplanned stops. Focus on achieving target output volumes while maintaining high product quality standards.

Understanding of the cell sequence, recovering from sequence faults and uphold the cell set-up and its sequence. If necessary, perform a kick-in or kick-out of the product to ensure quality assurance. Initiation of quality stops if required.

Ensuring compliance to established processes and responsible for updating records and documentation on the lines.

Fixing breakdowns that can be resolved by standard modular exchanges.

Promptly documenting volume losses with detailed, standardized descriptions, proper categorization, and seek alignment in case of any uncertainties with the team leader. Ensuring a complete handover to the next shift to inform them of necessary monitoring and focus points.

Responsible conducting root cause analysis and identifying counter measures in case of machinery failure and quality deviations. Monitoring of problem resolution on shopfloor boards after failures/incidents.

Conducting basic checks on equipment and peripheral systems within the assigned production line section, ensuring timely replacement of worn and consumable parts as per the schedule or as need basis. Monitor control system visualizations for warnings and proactively eliminate potential disruptions. Reporting respective escalating early signs of failure or wear.

Responsible for ensuring availability of critical on-line spare parts and modular units & responsible for overseeing and approving cleaning equipment activities.

Performing preventive maintenance tasks (daily, weekly, monthly).

Ensuring 5S principles are implemented, maintained, and continuously improved within the assigned production line section, with a special focus on cleaning, protection, and lubrication.

Ensuring the assigned production line section is in optimal running condition during handover to operations after weekend or shutdown work. Following standard procedures to confirm its readiness. If abnormalities are identified post-handover, initiate the escalation process for correction.

Leading continuous improvement efforts by conducting analyses, identifying opportunities, and implementing actions. Enhances process efficiency and reduces cycle time through activities such as reteaching robots and optimizing sealer welding etc., with support from the operational maintenance team (tech2). Engaging further supporting functions as needed to drive implementations. Maintain documentation of any changes in log sheets, tracking and reporting execution progress to stakeholders.

Ensuring backup equipment and processes are always ready for operation, and all involved parties are familiar with their activation and usage. Conduct regular simulations of backup scenarios to maintain operational readiness and promptly activate them in downtime cases.

Undertaking and participating in any requested specialized projects and installation work.

Will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifikationen

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required: 4+ years relevant experience in automotive manufacturing; OR Relevant certificate + 3 years relevant experience in automotive manufacturing; OR Relevant associate degree + 1 year relevant experience in automotive manufacturing

Preferred: 5+ years relevant experience; OR Relevant certificate + 4 years relevant experience; OR Relevant assoc. degree + 2 years relevant experience

Able to perform the essential functions of the job

Prior working experience in a Body Shop environment strongly preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic knowledge of industrial AC/DC electricity (24V - 480V), as well as mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, is required. Ability to read and interpret respective documentation for system understanding and to resolve failures.

Ability to choose and use various tools for troubleshooting (hand tools, pneumatic, and electric tools)

Ability to read and interpret standard work instructions with high discipline to adhere to them.

Basic computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and email.

Basic education and/or experience with PLC/BUS systems (Siemens) is strongly preferred.

Experience with robotics (KUKA) is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with spot welding, MAG welding, stud welding, laser welding, and gluing processes.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Capability to coordinate a working group during a downtime incident.

Preferred knowledge in automotive systems and product quality requirements.

Willingness to work in a 3-shift model & travel locally for training purpose
