Job Summary:
The Body Shop Operator supports the stage in automobile manufacturing where the frame of the van and the body are welded together. Once robots have placed the parts into the framing station, the components are joined together through precision welding.
Responsibilities:
Machine feeding, set ups, operation of automated and robotic welding machines
Monitor and set up machinery for optimal performance
Sanding, grinding and deburring of metals
Work with hand, power, and pneumatic tools
Perform quality and visual inspection of final welds
Assemble and fabricate metal structure according to work specifications
Read and interpret diagrams and blueprints of the process
Efficiently and safely load machines with required parts and identify any issues that arise
Identify, analyze, suggest countermeasures, assign and partner with connected areas of expertise to correct issues
Perform failure analysis on manufacturing processes
Perform failure analysis on the product
Perform welds, weld testing, or metal finish, including non-routine functions
Assist in the procurement and construction of new machinery and equipment
Assist in the organization of teamwork
Participate in the Continuous Improvement Program
Other duties, as assigned
Shift: This position is being offered on third shift.
Qualifikationen
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Required: 2+ years of relevant manufacturing experience; OR Relevant certificate and 1+ years of relevant experience
Preferred: 3+ years of relevant experience; OR Relevant certificate and 2+ years of relevant experience
Knowledge and Skills
Must successfully pass assessment testing
Strongly prefer knowledge of welding, gluing, metal finish, ultrasonic weld inspection, weld destruct, hydraulic, pneumatic, metal processing or data processing
Must be able to perform the essential job functions
Willing to complete a drug screen, background check, and pre-placement medical exam
Willing to work overtime
