Primary Responsibilities:

  • Handle 24/7 Biomed Technical Support Hotline and coordinate any support and replenishment requests with Biomed, Sales and Providers

  • Ensure rental orders are prioritized and being filled same day by coordinating between Biomed Managers, One Track Help, Customer Service and Equipment Procurement teams

  • Coordinate MSD Device purchases with Equipment Sales and Biomed for used and new devices sales to ensure deadlines and customer expectations are met

  • Engineer, design, build and implement device protocol testing to increase technician productivity and accuracy. Captures and reports on improvements.

  • Monitor and report customer device Turn times by location for internal team metrics and Sales/Customer QBR session

  • Work w/Quality, OEMs and IT to ensure Biomedical Operations Technical Service Library has the latest version of all service manuals required to test and repair devices

  • One Track Biomedical SME; responsibilities include:

  • Validate all PM templates reflect latest OEM protocols for depot and field service devices

  • Coordinate, track and report on all devices shipped to the OEM for service to verify OEMs are meeting device turn times

  • Ensure all biomedical test equipment (Scales, Gauges, Meters, etc.) is in compliance and certified for all biomed centers and field techs

  • Set up and linking of parts and accessories for new and existing equipment

  • Identify and work with IT and the One Track Team to create new biomedical and customer facing reports

  • Conduct Sales Rep training and consulting on all medical devices to include Infusion, Enteral, Ventilation and future device types

  • Complete all special testing requirements to satisfy OEM requests and customer complaints

  • Quality department liaison for device complaints and Sales Force cases

  • Will act as liaison to our customers to solve technical problems and complaints

  • Track device service capabilities by location (depot and Field) for the various biomedical leaders and then schedule training with applicable vendors

  • Responsible for coordinating with construction management and biomed leaders on all facility remodeling and expansions projects

  • Special Projects as directed by Biomedical leadership

  • May, if necessary, act as department supervisor during managers absence

  • Will be expected to travel roughly 50% of the time

Knowledge:

  • Strong demonstrable technical troubleshooting ability

  • Broad knowledge base of various hospital / homecare medical equipment

  • Excellent customer communication skills

  • Computer literate with an understanding of database operations

  • Understanding of and ability to operate specialized test equipment used on medical equipment

  • Working knowledge of electronics, electricity, electro-mechanical, fluidics, pneumatics and hydraulic theories and practices

  • Strong work ethic and focus on quality work

  • An Associate's Degree in an electronic field or comparable work experience

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel

  • Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain focus with intermittent distractions

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Professionalism and mature sense of accountability

The BMET II also possesses a strong knowledge of the operation of a biomedical branch and the people skills necessary to act as local supervisor of the staff. As a competent technical resource, he/she will be expected to mentor BMET's and PM techs to improve the competency and value of our technicians. The BMET II (Lead) will be expected schedule and direct the overall resources of the branch to maintain an efficient and effective operation.
