Education:

High School Diploma no required

Experience and Background:

Minimum of eight years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be familiar with a variety of manufacturing processes. Must meet Production Tech III experience and background requirements. Must have specific knowledge of product function, testing and design. Strong leadership and communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.

Position is responsible for the production of parts meeting print and specification requirements as well as responsible for the care and maintenance of the equipment. Train other operators as required. Will facilitate continuous improvement activities. Responsible for team when supervisor is absent. Will have supervisor signature authority when supervisor is absent.

Performance Objectives:

• Actively lead production team in product and process improvement

• Prepares daily production reports

• Production of parts meeting drawing and specification requirements.

• Set-up and operation of equipment, as assigned.

• Perform statistical process control measurements and calculations. Complete forms or computer entries as required.

• Order and maintain inventory levels of required tooling, gages and supplies.

• Participate in assuring team tooling and material readiness. (Assemble tooling set-up kits, stage raw materials and perform external setup tasks, as required)

• Participate in setting and achieving team and individual productivity and quality targets

• Lead Kaizens for improvement

• Help facilitate continuous improvement activities.

• Perform machine inspections including daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance tasks.

• Perform shop floor housekeeping duties.

• Train technicians (operators) in the operation of plant equipment and fastener manufacturing and testing methods.

• Helps to ensure that quality and standards for the department are adhered to and maintained.

• Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required.

• Runs daily stand up meetings

• Participates in operations daily meetings when needed

• Performs ASATS as assigned

• Completes PRR's and CAR's

• Adheres to Howmet EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvements and other Company Policies.

• Perform necessary quality checks and SPC data collection for products produced.

• Help facilitate compliance with company safety, housekeeping, and other company policies

• Participates in the hiring decisions regarding operators

• Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers and suppliers.
