Blending Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

As a Maintenance Supervisor at AZEK, your role will directly contribute to the operational success of our manufacturing processes. Your performance will be evaluated based on the following key outcomes:

• Team Leadership & Personnel Supervision:

• Performance Expectation: Lead, motivate, and supervise a high-performing team of maintenance personnel. Foster an environment where employees are skilled, engaged, and accountable for their responsibilities.

• Key Indicator: Low turnover rate, effective training and development of team members, and positive team performance evaluations.

• Proactive Facility & Equipment Maintenance:

• Performance Expectation: Regularly inspect plant facilities and blending equipment to identify and resolve issues before they cause operational downtime. Ensure blending systems and plant infrastructure are in optimal working condition.

• Key Indicator: Reduced instances of emergency repairs, successful completion of planned maintenance activities, and high equipment uptime.

• Safety & Compliance:

• Performance Expectation: Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, company safety procedures, and proactive communication of safety risks. Strive for continuous improvement in safety protocols.

• Key Indicator: Achievement of safety goals, zero major safety incidents, and active participation in safety programs.

• Effective Communication:

• Performance Expectation: Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Wood Plant Maintenance Manager and other relevant personnel regarding maintenance priorities, issues, and updates.

• Key Indicator: Timely and accurate reporting, transparency in issue resolution, and proactive sharing of critical information.

• Project Execution & Contractor Management:

• Performance Expectation: Oversee and direct contractor projects, ensuring all work aligns with safety procedures, company policies, and project timelines.

• Key Indicator: Successful completion of contractor-driven projects on time and within budget, with no major safety or quality issues.

• Training & Skill Development:

• Performance Expectation: Provide on-the-job training for maintenance personnel to enhance their technical skills, troubleshooting abilities, and operational knowledge.

• Key Indicator: Improvement in team competency, high levels of training completion, and successful performance of more complex maintenance tasks by team members.

• Preventive Maintenance Program Success:

• Performance Expectation: Implement and follow through with preventive maintenance schedules for all blending equipment and plant facilities to reduce unscheduled downtime.

• Key Indicator: High percentage of preventive maintenance tasks completed on schedule, significant reduction in breakdowns due to maintenance neglect.

• Capital Project Assistance & Infrastructure Improvements:

• Performance Expectation: Assist with the planning, execution, and follow-up on capital projects, particularly those related to blending equipment and plant infrastructure.

• Key Indicator: Successful execution of capital projects that improve plant operations, with measurable increases in production efficiency or cost savings.

• Vendor & Contractor Relationship Management:

• Performance Expectation: Build and maintain effective relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure high-quality service, cost-effectiveness, and project success.

• Key Indicator: Positive vendor feedback, on-time project deliveries, and effective cost management on external projects.

• Environmental & Regulatory Compliance:

• Performance Expectation: Support the plant's environmental goals and regulatory compliance efforts, ensuring that necessary reports and audits are completed accurately and on time.

• Key Indicator: Zero major compliance issues, timely completion of environmental reports, and successful participation in internal audits.

• Flexibility & Availability:

• Performance Expectation: Be available to work across various shifts, including weekends and holidays, to ensure 24/7 operations are supported. Respond to emergency maintenance needs in a timely manner.

• Key Indicator: Availability and responsiveness to meet operational needs, minimal impact on plant operations during off-hours.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Associate's degree or technical certification in a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.

Experience:

• 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for experience in blending or extrusion processes.
• Strong experience with pneumatic conveyance systems is required.
• Knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, is essential.
• Ability to plan and execute maintenance schedules for blending and plant equipment.
• Previous experience maintaining electrical and plant systems is a must.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing and supervising a team of maintenance personnel.

Computer Skills:

• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with CMMS programs such as E-Maintenance is preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The annual salary for this position ranges from $82,300 in our lowest market up to $102,700 in our highest market, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. The pay for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific work location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
