Job Description:

General Information: This position is a part of the Specialty Products Division and reports to the Manufacturing Manager of the Marysville Specialty Products group. This is a salaried, full time, non exempt position.

Background: This position is responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing operation. (i.e. Safety, Scheduling, Production, Shipping / Receiving, Inventory Management, Housekeeping, Preventative Maintenance, Directing Hourly Employees, Reporting, items as directed, etc.)

Key Functions: Supervise hourly employee crew and daily production activities for a 1 shift operation.

Implement plant initiatives for safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, waste, etc. Monitor effectiveness of programs and work to improve performance in all areas.

Typical daily duties will consist of processing of orders. Supervision of, and participation in production.

Ensuring all orders are prepared for shipment. Shipping and receiving of products. Completion of the daily paperwork and cleaning the plant at the end of the day are also required. Excellent customer service skills are a necessity.

Requirements:
Candidate must be a proven leader, goal oriented, self-starter, good communicator and computer literate.

Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization. Candidate must also demonstrate a sincere interest and desire to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Prior Ink experience is necessary.

Must be familiar with the various ink manufacturing processes. Ink dispensing systems knowledge is a plus.

This individual will have full responsibility for all operations and manufacturing engineering functions, and work closely with the supply chain, quality and safety functions within the Hennessy business, including establishing current and long range objectives, plans and policies subject to the approval of the VP of Ops and the President of Hennessy. The Operations Manager will utilize the Fortive Business System (FBS) to drive improved results in safety, quality, productivity and cost. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide oversight for main Hennessy manufacturing site located in Bowling Green, KY. Responsible daily actions for more than 50 operations team members, including manufacturing engineering, machining, welding, powder coating, and final assembly. * Direct, maintain, and improve Hennessy Industries, BADA Division's Quality and Environmental Management Systems by ensuring objectives are established to comply with IATF 16949, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 14001:2015 standards * Build and sustain a culture of safety and quality using lean manufacturing principles, including visual management, leadership standard work and layered process audits * Leverage the FBS toolkit to drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery and cost * Coach and develop team in FBS tools, including problem solving, daily/visual management, and standard work * Leverages FBS Leadership toolkit to assemble, train, and motivate a high performance team * Coach and develop Operations team in leadership, problem solving and continuous improvement in order to grow Operations talent funnel * Utilize Dynamic Resource Allocation to create a flexible/adaptable workforce that meets the ever-changing needs of our automotive aftermarket customers * Lead regular operational reviews for the factory and drive problem solving and countermeasures for KPI misses * Foster high employee engagement * Perform other duties as assigned RELATIONSHIPS This position reports to the Hennessy Vice President of Global Operations. Beyond working with operations functions, including supply chain, quality and safety, the Plant Manager works with all functional departments within Hennessy, including sales, marketing, and engineering to achieve business goals. In addition, the Plant Manager works daily with HR to ensure accountability and preserve a constructive relationship. MEASUREMENT OF PERFORMANCE Improved results in safety, quality, inventory and cost, balanced between leading metrics that drive daily actions and lagging metrics that track desired business outcomes. BACKGROUND AND SKILL * Bachelors Degree required - Master's/MBA strongly preferred * Minimum 5 years supervisory experience. Prior ability to manage functions outside of operations including engineering, customer service and other support functions preferred * Minimum 2 years experience in lean manufacturing and/or metalworking/fabrication environment * Demonstrated history of recruiting, training, and motivating talent * Must have strong written and oral communication skills, from shop floor to boardroom * Ability to thrive in a fast paced, results-oriented, continuous improvement environment * Intermediate to advanced data analysis skills; familiarity with business intelligence and dashboarding systems such as Power BI, Cognos, or Oracle Business Intelligence a plus * Experience with Automotive OEM quality systems a plus * Ability to travel 5% of the time Fortive is a diversified industrial growth company comprised of global businesses that are recognized leaders in attractive markets.
