We are seeking a highly motivated, technically talented individual, who has a true desire to lead and coach in a dynamic operations environment to support our HSMC Turbo Blades as a Blades Supervisor 1st shift. In this role you will be proving direction to skilled bargaining unit employees, leading employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts guided by our Roadmap and Control Tower objectives. Additionally you will lead sustained improvements in safety, quality, production, material procurement, and cost reduction through the system's various elements. In conjunction to daily supervisor responsibilities, project management, effective communication and execution with support group members is critical to the department's success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish work schedules taking into account customer requirements, resource availability and other priorities

  • Provide leadership and direction with emphasis on team building through daily toolbox meetings, effective communications, and in developing an efficient team that is responsive to production requirements and changes

  • Delegate effectively to develop personnel and balance workload

  • Work dedicatedly to address issues and engage the workforce in achieving cell goals

  • Demonstrate a 100% dedication to Quality, Environment Health and Safety (EHS), foreign object debris (FOD) prevention, and Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE)

  • Understanding and ability to drive quality and customer satisfaction through ACE operating system

  • Develop, motivate and coach a production team and establish standards and expectations for work effort and performance

  • Perform administrative functions as related to bargaining unit employees including maintaining training, quality and attendance records, handle cell overtime and equitably distribute among employees

  • Ensure department equipment is clean, properly maintained, records and labels properly affixed, and uptime optimized while meeting all safety requirements

  • Ensure elite safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly.

  • Utilize ACE tools to improve production, performance, and reduce scrap, rework, and repair.

  • Control quality, productivity and process flow to meet customer MRP requirements while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and ensure compliance to P&W policies and procedures

  • Hold employees accountable while maintaining a key working relationship and ensuring a premier safety culture

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Business or similar experience
  • 6+ years of operations experience in a shop environment, in manufacturing, operations or other similar industry
  • U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of leadership experience preferred

  • working knowledge of shop practices, processes and procedures

  • Clear, concise and effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Experience working with all levels of management and in a union environment

  • Highly self-directed, quick learner, strong drive and results driven

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement principles (lean manufacturing, ACE, QCPC, etc.)

  • Consistent track record in team leadership roles

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office applications specifically Excel and Powerpoint, as well as SAP

  • Analytical, problem solving & mathematic skills

The SDCI organization is seeking an NGPF Design Integration Manager located in East Hartford with strong technical, communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate will be responsible to direct a cross functional team of practitioners from across the company, and supervise the 17-24K SD&CI team. Key Responsibilities include: • Lead critical field issue investigations and provide communication to airframer customer. • Manage system level requirements (SRD) • Support both the Development and Production Engineering Change Process across multiple NGPF Engine Programs • Communicate engineering task priorities and status to Module Center and Program management, utilizing the Bucket List Tracker and other automated status tools • Direct teams with cross functional representation from systems groups, and CIPTs, Contractors, Customers and Partners, to ensure smooth and successful execution of Configuration Changes • Work closely with and provide direction to the Configuration Management Services organization • Oversee SIPT Facilitators, including Outsource SOW Management, and SDCI budget management. • Manage the 17-24K NGPF SD&CI team Experience/Qualifications 7+ years as a design or project engineer. Experience in the EC process is required. Teamcenter and Sharepoint experience is desirable.
