We're looking for a senior scientific programmer to help direct, develop and maintain our suite of chemistry products and applications.
These applications are a cornerstone of BIOVIA's enterprise solutions for the pharmaceutical, biotechnological and fine-chemical industries.
This position will be part of a dynamic development team that is dedicated to delivering high-quality, on-time software releases using best-of-breed Agile practices.
The qualified candidate needs to have an excellent background in cheminformatics (with emphasis in structure representation and searching) and ample programming experience, including architecture, design, optimization and software construction.
In addition to being a hands-on engineer, the successful applicant will develop collaborative working relationships with applications development, quality assurance, product marketing, technical communications, and technical services teams from across the company.
Your Key Success Factors?
5+ years of programming experience in a commercial environment.
A strong background in Chemistry or a related science field
BS, MS or equivalent experience in computer science
Proficiency in C++ is a must
Broad technical knowledge in object-oriented design and implementation, design patterns, and software development methodologies.
Independent thinker and strong leadership abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Strong personal drive to learn leading-edge technologies and to excel.
Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum development.
