The John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an exciting career opportunity for a Biostatistician.
Under the direction of the Analytic Project Manager(s) and Project Principal Investigators, the Biostatistician provides statistical support for the Genetic Epidemiology Core within the Hussman Institute for Human Genomics. This position collaborates with clinical and translation researchers on developing, implementing, and analyzing data for research studies.
The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:
Develops study design and data analysis plans.
Analyzes, evaluates, and reports on complex observation research data.
Prepares results for progress reports and presentations.
Prepares results for peer-reviewed publications and being a co-author on peer-reviewed manuscripts.
Maintains and documents the studies' databases.
Presents results of statistical analyses to study investigators.
Consults with the study investigators on planning and specifying statistical analysis.
Consults on data collection methods and quality control.
Provides problem solving support for barriers to analyses and consults with other methodologists and statisticians.
The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Bachelor's Degree in an area relevant to data analysis, Master's Degree preferred.
Minimum of one year of relevant work experience. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency with statistical software packages, particularly SAS and R.
