Purpose:

The junior/entry-level Biostatistician will provide biostatistical support for the development and execution of clinical trials, including the coordination of all related areas/activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development of protocols, statistical analysis plans and statistical analysis to meet project objectives.

  • Supports the development of clinical study reports, INDs, NDAs, annual reports, and scientific publications.

  • Serves as a contributing member of project teams with cross-functional colleagues responsible for meeting study objectives.

  • Ensures that projects are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal and external representatives.

  • Helps determine the best methods and techniques in design and analysis of complex trials in support of project objectives.

  • Keeps up to date on current statistical methodologies relating to drug development.

  • Keeps abreast of current scientific progress and actively develops and maintains relationships with outside experts. Serves as a key liaison by representing the company with outside groups.

  • Follows regulatory requirements and good clinical practice guidelines.

  • Supports the statistical needs outside the Medical Development as needed.

  • Performs statistical analysis and statistical programming using SAS and/or R.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:

  • M.S. in biostatistics, statistics or related fields with 1 or more years of experience in statistical analysis.

  • Proficiency with SAS and R.

  • Other:

  • Excellent knowledge of statistical methodology and concepts.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrates ability to solve complex problems to attain crucial project goals.

  • Experience of more challenging or higher-value projects

Actively participates in writing statistical sections of protocols, preparing statistical analysis plans, preparing data deliverables for clinical study reports, interpreting analysis results, writing statistical sections of clinical study reports, and participating in meetings with drug regulatory agencies as required.<br></p><p><br></p> <p><strong>Primary Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Act as the lead statistician on clinical research projects </li> <li>Provide statistical expertise for study design of clinical trial protocols </li> <li>Write statistical methods section of the study protocol, as needed</li> <li>Write statistical analysis plans ensuring appropriate regulatory requirements and study objectives defined in the study protocol are followed</li> <li>Review CRFs to ensure consistency with protocol and adequacy in collecting data to meet objectives and statistical analyses defined in the protocol</li> <li>Program summary tables, data listings and graphical representations of clinical trials data</li> <li>Perform all analyses defined in the statistical analysis plan as well as any post-hoc analyses and relevant exploratory analyses of clinical trial data </li> <li>Prepare key sections of clinical study reports and various regulatory documents</li> <li>Perform statistical QC of final clinical study reports</li> <li>Provide statistical support to answer questions from external clients (such as FDA, Investigators)</li> <li>Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures for clinical trials </li> <li>Represent statistical operations department at regulatory meetings, sponsor meetings, and any other multifunctional meetings, as needed</li> <li>Adhere to all aspects of the SDC’s quality system</li> <li>Comply with SDC’s data integrity &amp; business ethics requirements</li> <li>Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein</li> </ul> <p>The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
