We are seeking a high performing, experienced, and energetic Product Manager to lead the development of strategies and plans for Firmware and Software capabilities to be used across HP Personal Systems. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical stakeholders across multiple organizations within HP and our partners. You will need to operate in complex disciplines, navigate ambiguous situations, and exercise independent judgment in developing project goals and direction.

Responsibilities

  • Plays a leadership role and drives the progress of the product management function.

  • Strategically partners with key senior stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.

  • Develops requirements and specifications to meet complex business needs, in alignment with key stakeholders across multiple business lines.

  • Monitors competitive market to determine needs for product improvements and identify market opportunities.

  • Collaborates with the firmware/software engineering team on feature ideas and prototypes to bring potential solutions to life.

  • Advises key stakeholders on the portfolio strategy across all phases of the lifecycle.

  • Tracks and reports key metrics to drive future product developments.

  • Collaborates with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies, product launch plans, and marketing collateral.

  • Demonstrates process improvement and project management experience, preferably with the implementation of large projects.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Typically has 10+ years of work experience, preferably in product management, digital or software product development, or a related field.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of complex software systems, firmware, and embedded systems. Experience with PC BIOS / UEFI desired.

  • Adept at collecting and analyzing input from multiple sources (customers, sales, engineering, marketing, competitor, and management)

  • Experience in Product Management related to software development or systems engineering

  • Demonstrated business acumen, understanding of organizational strategy, and successful experience managing all aspects of cross- business unit programs, including communicating with internal and external stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

  • Ability to effectively communicate program management architectures, plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $143850 - $221550 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
