Biopharma Specialist

The Biopharmaceutical Specialist is a dynamic and challenging role within the Pharmaceutical business unit, playing an important part in IMCD's objective to develop and grow the segment in the United States. As am emerging market for IMCD, duties will include direct selling and customer management, developing and implementing growth strategies, and identifying and acquiring new Principals and Product Portfolios in order to grow a robust opportunity pipeline to achieve overall business growth.

An excellent communicator and leader, you are able to develop and execute a growth strategy while maintaining key relationships with our principals and customers. Key strengths needed in this role are value based selling, strategic thinking, and communication, both internally and externally. Passionate, enthusiastic, and motivated by success, a key focus of this role is to determinedly grow the Biopharmaceutical business.

The Biopharmaceutical Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of IMCD's entry into the specified market segments to meet budget and other business objectives.

Essential Functions

Develops and implements growth strategy for market penetration and sales development.

Builds and maintains in-depth knowledge of the specified segments and associated IMCD product offerings.

Identifies target customers and applications utilizing company databases and external research.

Makes in-person sales calls on purchasing, R&D, and other relevant customer contacts at target accounts, promoting IMCD products and building sales.

Reviews IMCD's market offerings identifying gaps; recommends and evaluates new products and principals.

Attends industry functions to build IMCD US network of customer, prospect, and supplier contacts.

Support sales team on sales efforts where needed.

Works with segment lead identifying and developing marketing opportunities from concept through execution.

Learns and uses company's commercial software system to provide commercial reports for customers and company management.

Develops working knowledge of company key financial indicators and the qualitative effects of supplier and customer economics on these indicators.

Learns and uses the company's technical support system to assist customers (and sometimes suppliers) with technical issues.

Maintains relationship with accounts as required by account classification.

Achieves budget and other territory objectives (such as call frequencies, SF management, reporting, etc.).

Maintains sales records and information such as call reports, weekly and monthly reports, as required.

Provides additional information and reports as required by company's management.

Manages additional sales-related projects as required by company's management.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates out of a home/professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise directed by the National Sales Manager.

Travel

This position requires 50% travel. Frequent travel is outside the local area and overnight.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Physical or Life Sciences or seven years' experience in related industry/position.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.

Experience in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Education and Experience

MBA or equivalent.

Experience in related industry/position.
