What you'll do

The BioMedical Technician II monitors and participates in the preventive Maintenance, electrical safety and equipment repair programs for basic and/or specialty medical equipment. Maintains preventive maintenance records on all equipment included in the program. Coordinates service of equipment with outside vendors as required. Maintains efficient department operation while requiring compliance with all JACHO, Federal, state and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols. May help in projects as assigned and may assist in the day-to-day operation of the clinical engineering department.

• Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect medical equipment and instrumentation, including life support equipment.

• Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.

• Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions.

• Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections, and equipment repairs and failures.

• Provide technical assistance and instruction to personnel regarding equipment operation and maintenance.

• Review outcome of preventive maintenance actions and make recommendations to department staff concerning improvements.

• May assist senior biomedical engineering technicians or supervisor with in-service educational programs on use of equipment.

What we need from you

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED, required

• Vocational / Technical trade school and/or equivalent work/military experience in electronics, electrical/biomedical engineering or related field, preferred

• 2 year / Associate Degree in electronics technology or equivalent, preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years hands-on experience in Biomedical Engineering field with related hospital experience as a Biomedical Technologist, required

License/ Certification:

• NYS Driver's License
• CBET certification and/or OEM verification on Ventilators, Defibrillator, Telemetry and other Critical care equipment, preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Medium Work

• Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects

• Occasional crouching, grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching

• Frequent balancing, standing, walking

• Constant typing/ clerical/ dexterity, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/ monitor/ computer use, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception) fit testing

Hazards:

• Occasional burns, chemical

• Frequent bodily fluids/ bloodborne exposure

Pay Range

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.

Pay Range Minimum:

USD $23.78/Hr.

Pay Range Maximum:

USD $35.66/Hr.
