Providence is calling a Biomedical Equipment Technician (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.

In this position you will:

  • Provide scheduled maintenance, minor repairs and electrical safety inspections on general patient care medical equipment under the general supervision of the Biomedical Services Manager.

  • Have work assigned that is moderate in difficulty with general training.

  • Perform services on, but not limited to, infusion devices, vital signs monitors, compression units and other like devices at multiple locations within Providence. Operate test equipment and other instrumentation in performing tests, inspections and repairs, and is responsible for accurately documenting these services on designated forms and within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • Perform all duties in a manner, which promote team concept and reflects the Sisters of Providence mission and core values.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's in Applied Science degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics Technology -or- equivalent military training will be accepted in lieu of the degree

  • Current driver's license

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year of experience with patient care electronic medical devices at a circuit level

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for approximately eighty percent of work time when preparing and performing work. A valid State of Maine drivers license. Knowledge of operation, repair, calibration, installation and system design of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and systems and associated computers, workstations and networks as normally obtained through the completion of an Associates Degree in Biomedical Electronics Technology and five or more years of directly experience. Other equivalent combination of education and experience shall be considered. Excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate and work effectively with technical staff and user departments to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and departments throughout the institution and with manufacturers, vendors and other service organizations.# The ability to express thoughts clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
