Position Summary (Damariscotta and Redington Fairview.) This is technical work diagnosing, repairing, testing, calibrating, modifying, specifying, installing, and maintaining a variety of diagnostic, therapeutic and analytic biomedical equipment and related workstations/computers, networks and systems and electro-mechanical equipment and systems.# Confers with various hospital staff and clarifies the nature of equipment and system problems and projects. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education:

Knowledge of operation, repair, calibration, installation and of diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment and systems as normally obtained through the completion of an Associates Degree in Biomedical Electronics Technology and five or more years of directly related experience. Other equivalent combination of education and experience shall be considered. License/Certifications:

A valid State of Maine drivers license. Experience: See #Education# Excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate and work effectively with technical staff and user departments to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and departments throughout the institution and with manufacturers, vendors and other service organizations.# The ability to express thoughts clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of the techniques of troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, specifying, and installing diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and systems.# Knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, electronics, workstations/computers, major communications protocols and networking.# The ability to use such knowledge to organize and prioritize all work and to resolve complex device and/or system problems, improve department operations, and reduce costs.# The ability to use such knowledge to act independently and serve on-call for off-hours service of all biomedical equipment and systems.# Skilled in the use of general office applications such as clinical engineering database, word processing, E-mail, spreadsheet, and scheduling Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for approximately eighty percent of work time when preparing and performing work.

This unit primarily treats patients with medical complications such as sepsis, ARDS, GI bleeds, DKA, and other acute conditions. Position Summary The Clinical Nurse supports Maine Medical Center#s mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family centered care, commitment to our community, and accountability.# In accordance with national standards of nursing practice and within the guidelines and policies and procedures of both Maine Medical Center and the Maine State Board of Nursing, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of the effects of nursing care.# Care delivery and coordination of patient and family care begins with the initial contact with the health care system and may continue across the continuum.# Services may be provided on an inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and/or community basis. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred. Must matriculate to a BSN within one year of hire, attaining completion within five years of hire. License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Maine. Experience: Meets all requirements of Clinical Nurse I. Completion of Level I usually achieved by 12 months of employment. Evidence of 10 hours of ongoing education per year. Demonstrates a caring nursing practice and promotes a healing environment for patients and families. Demonstrates the required knowledge and technical skills to care for most patient populations on the unit. Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Ability to identify potential crisis situations involving patients and/or families and to initiate appropriate action. In accordance with the Clinical Nursing Advancement Program, a Clinical Nurse II may choose to remain at Level II as opposed to seeking advancement to Level III. Maine Health Portland ME
