Provides Biomedical support including preventive maintenance and repairs to all Clinical/Patient related equipment at USCUH.

Work shift hours are 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM. Participation on the weekly rotating On-Call schedule is required.

Minimum Education:

  • An AA degree in Biomedical Electronics/Electronics or Bachelor's Degree in related field is required.

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:

  • 3 years working experience in the field with a minimum of 1 year in a medium sized hospital as a Biomedical Technician. Knowledgeable of all aspects of Biomedical Engineering. Knowledge of state, Federal, Local and JCAHO codes and standards applicable to the functions of the department is required.

Required License/Certification:

  • CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) by AAMI preferred

  • Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.

Responsible for projecting budgetary needs, evaluating equipment and employee performance, and ensuring the general effectiveness of services. The Manager is responsible for assisting in monitoring and controlling the Sleep Laboratory budget, employee relationships, customer service, performance improvement, maintaining intra and interdepartmental communication and overseeing specialized accreditation. The Manager is also responsible for organizing the work schedule, and monitoring attendance and punctuality. Minimum Education: * Bachelor's degree in a related science (e.g. engineering, psychology, neuroscience, health) or business. * Master's degree preferred in a related science field (e.g. physiology, psychology, neuroscience) or business (e.g. MBA, MHA, MPH). Minimum Experience/Knowledge: * Minimum of two years in a lead sleep technician position. Management experience preferred Required License/Certification: * Licensed by: the state of California as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or * Credentialed by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPGST) or American Board of Sleep Medicine as a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST). * BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association * Fire and Safety Certification.
