Rivier University is hiring a Biology Lab Manager to coordinate the use of instructional laboratories, maintain laboratory supplies and equipment, and ensure a safe laboratory environment for all users. The Lab Manager will support instructors who teach General Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, General Microbiology and Medical Microbiology.
The Biology Lab Manager is responsible for the preparation of microbiological media, operating an autoclave, coordinating the use of laboratory facilities among faculty members, setting up necessary materials for specific laboratory activities and returning laboratory space to a ready state after use.
The successful candidate will maintain a safe laboratory environment and support the faculty who are responsible for the instruction of laboratory sections in General Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, General Microbiology, and Medical Microbiology.
The laboratory manager is responsible for chemical hygiene and waste management and will maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to these duties.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Biology or a related field and have a keen interest in and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring students of all levels and abilities.
Significant experience in a biology laboratory setting is required, along with an understanding of how this discipline and this position support the education of nursing, biology, and biotechnology students.
Experience in Anatomy & Physiology and/or Microbiology Laboratory is preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to advocate for and support the academic, personal, and professional needs of the University.
Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff and maintain collegial relations.
Flexibility and adaptability in an emerging and changing environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information, and
Computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including word-processing, and reporting platforms, as well as online calendaring and email, and
Basic familiarity with social media applications a plus.
Full time, Monday through Friday with some early evening hours throughout the semester. No overtime required.
