Job Summary

Maysville Community and Technical College is currently seeking a full-time Biology Instructor for a ten-month term contract to serve MCTC Rowan and Montgomery Campuses. Compensation for this position will be distributed over a twelve-month period.

Job Duties: The instructor will be responsible for classroom lectures, labs, and assisting students. Additional duties will include academic advising, committee work, and internal and external service, along with the following duties listed below:

• Plans and carries out instruction and instructional activities and prepares learning materials for special study.

• Provides instructions to students in the discipline of Biology, including General Biology, Microbiology, and Anatomy and Physiology.

• Prepares lesson plans and maintains records and reports on students' attainment and progress.

• Keeps abreast of changes in the field and keeps courses updated.

• Participates in professional development activities to improve teaching skills and technical expertise.

• Provides follow-up services to assist in student placement, improved courses of instruction, and promotes public relations.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Biology or a Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Biology is required. Experience using Blackboard (or a similar learning management system as a delivery method for classes) is recommended.
