We are seeking a Bioinformatics Software Engineer to join the Clinical Informatics group in the Department of Pathology at MSK. You will have the opportunity to work with a NGS assay used to identify and track clonal lymphocyte populations for B-cell and T-cell malignancies. Responsibilities involve analyzing high-throughput RepSeq data and developing user interface/portal for clinical signouts.

You Will:

  • Develop Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis pipelines.

  • Implement and follow methodologies in software development, code versioning, software testing and deployment

  • Use compute cluster (SGE) for data analyses.

  • Provide one-on-one consultation and training in software development and scripting languages to research scientists and bioinformatics and software engineers.

You Are:

  • Excellent at troubleshooting and problem-solving, a quick-learner with excellent time management skills.
  • A strong written and oral communicator with the ability to interact with non-specialists and advise on relevant software and tools.

You Need:

  • Master's in Bioinformatics or Computer Science.

  • 2+ years of experience developing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis pipeline. Knowledge and experience working with RepSeq data preferred.

  • 5+ years of professional experience with Perl and Java programming language.

  • Extensive experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs using Spring framework and Spring boot.

  • Experience building front-end applications using JSP, JQuery, AJAX, JSON, Javascript, CSS, Bootstrap.

  • Experience with data visualization and charting using D3 and R.

Job Description We are seeking a Bioinformatics Software Engineer to help develop IOExplorer, an analytics web application that will allow the broader medical community access to the data being generated at The Immunogenomics and Precision Oncology Platform (IPOP). The IPOP is a newly established program dedicated to developing precision immunotherapy at MSK. The program's goal is to use state-of-the-art approaches to unravel the molecular determinants of response to immunotherapy and to optimize immunotherapeutics such as immune checkpoint inhibitors and neoantigen-based vaccines using large scale analyses.
