Our team specializes in developing clinically significant algorithms and software for genomic data to improve human health by unlocking the power of the genome. Challenges in this area include development of methods which handle the full breadth of variant types discoverable with human genome sequencing, including large and complex variant types. In addition, connecting these modular methods into broadly usable integrated products requires careful considerations and effort. To address these challenges, we work in interdisciplinary teams to develop novel analysis methods and provide a sample-to-answer pipeline with high reliability, speed, and completeness of results.
We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team in developing DNA analysis solutions for use by researchers and clinicians worldwide. This software will be a key component of projects in population-scale sequencing, study of rare heritable genetic disease, and cancer sequencing.
Design, prototype, and implement computational algorithms that utilize both statistical and machine learning approaches.
Extend methods to integrate variant types and genomic loci that are not yet handled by routine genomic analysis.
Collaborate deeply with other teams to ensure a smooth, end-to-end workflow usable by a broad range of customers.
Strong background in developing production-grade software. Experience with C++/C#/Java is highly advantageous.
Personal initiative and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Strong background in algorithm development.
Familiarity with applying statistical approaches or machine learning to algorithm development.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with structural variants and copy number variants is strongly preferred.
General knowledge of genomics, genetics, and sequencing technologies.
Experience with analysis of human whole-genome sequencing data.
Familiarity with agile software development processes (e.g. Scrum).
Experience with using version control systems such as git.
Experience with cloud computing, parallel computing, and big data.
