Bio-Assay Associate I

The Role: The Bio-Assay Associate is responsible for developing, qualifying and transferring assays according to ICH guidelines and performing in-process routine testing in support of material characterization and product commercialization activities.

As a Bio-Assay Associate I at Ascend, you will perform routine sample testing that support Process Development activities. Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Regulatory, you will assist in developing, qualifying and tech transferring analytical and cell-based assays that will include all phases of submissions following ICH guidelines. Requirements

• Maintain cell stock and cell cultures.
• Maintain adequate supplies and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Maintain lab area in a clean, neat, and orderly condition at all times.
• Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment.
• Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Strong organizational, planning and trouble-shooting skills.
• Performing routine testing such as qPCR, ddPCR, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, and cell-based assays, including reagent preparation and cell culture for assays.
• Support in-house Process Development and Quality Control work through testing, as well as the development and maintenance of reference materials, positive controls, and standards.
• Write and review study protocols, technical reports, SOPs, test reports, and any documents necessary to maintain or enhance systems.
• Assist in qualifications for transfer to Quality Control team.

What you’ll bring:

Bio-Assay Associate I: B.S. degree preferred or an A.S. and two (2) years’ experience in a biological science with hands-on laboratory experience in a QC and/or AD environment focused on biologics.  Hands-on laboratory experience for A.S. with in vitro assays encompassing immunology, molecular biology, and/or cell biology such as ELISAs, PCR, and mammalian cell-based assays.  B.S coursework must include laboratory experience or exposure to ELISAs, PCR, and mammalian cell-based assays.
