PURPOSE:

The BIM Specialist works with a team to understand and enhance business processes and customer interactions through information technologies. The BIM Specialist will assist in defining business processes and information technology improvement initiatives that will add value to the business/enterprise.

This position is focused primarily on the support of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for external customers across the Industrial Packaging Group, including North American Container (NAC) and Specialty plants. The BIM Specialist works closely with NAC Customer Service, Sales & Marketing, and other IT Professionals.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Act as a liaison to the NAC and Specialty businesses, ITSS and other IT groups to coordinate the delivery of information technology solutions to the business. Focus on the implementation of standard EDI interfaces for the Witron and HRMS applications with NAC's national accounts and large volume local customers. Coordinate any new business requirements or projects for EDI.

  • Must understand the nature of the proposed business/IT changes and will compose functional and technical specifications outlining the necessary changes to the business operation/process, organizational, and/or applications.

  • Provides support for existing EDI integrations, which includes resolving of issues and changes.

  • Completes functional process analysis, design, and testing of new and existing business processes.

  • Ensure IPG's needs are being met and that assignments are delivered on time by participating in project/planning meetings and communicating regularly with the team and appropriate managers.

  • Develop training materials and conduct training on EDI functionality for Witron and HRMS end users

  • Interact with internal and external customers to better understand capabilities to exchange valued information and act accordingly.

  • Begins to plan small to medium sized IT projects and enhancement requests.

  • Understands and participates in the phases of IT's project delivery process (PDP).

  • Enabling EDI transactions by configuring the Witron and HRMS Order Management systems.

SCOPE:

The BIM Specialist is an individual contributor with responsibilities primarily focused on support, with limited project management requirements.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience:

  • 3-4 years relevant work experience, which includes EDI

  • Skills:

  • Ability to analyze business processes and resolve problems

  • Ability to gather business requirements

  • Effective written and verbal communications

  • An understanding of PDP and PPM processes and tools

  • Technical Learning; Skilled in EDI integrations

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science or other related discipline or related experience.
