BIM DESIGNER

We are currently searching for a candidate experienced in BIM design. Candidate must be selfmotivated, quality focused individual. Our ideal candidate will have experience and working knowledge of structural design. Understanding and experience with facility design, layout and detailing is important.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create electrical drawings for facilities such as lighting systems, power systems, communications, security, and fire detection in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)

• Perform basic system calculations, drawing production, some master specification editing and construction cost estimating assistance.

• Perform assignments utilizing standard engineering techniques and procedures under the supervision of a licensed professional.

• Responsible for the electrical layout of multiple projects using Trimble Stations

• Ensuring that all documents and designs meet CAD standards and Quality Program Criteria

• Produce internal pre-fabrication plans and complete quality control review to ensure the finished materials match the plans.

• Ability to attend clash detection meetings with other trades and general contractors to create detailed shop drawings for the field.

• As a fully experienced, competent design technician, direct the efforts of lessexperienced BIM Technicians as needed.

• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm

• Perform other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• An Associates in closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience.

• 2+ years’ experience in designing electrical lighting, power, and systems for building projects.

• Strong computer skills in Revit with 5+ years’ experience

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and context and switch between tasks.

• Strong skill set in the use of Bluebeam solutions.

• Other skills required include AutoCAD, Navisworks and Microsoft Office.

• Individual must be self-motivated, possess strong communication/interpersonal skills, teamwork oriented with leadership capability, professionalism, and organizational skills.
