The Role

As a Billing Supervisor you will be an integral member of the Client Finance Department for GCI Health US. You will be responsible for providing guidance and training to the team and ensuring the uniformity of the processes across the group. In addition to maintaining your own portfolio of clients you will be responsible for the management of a team of billing associates. This positions report to the GCI Group Billing Manager.

What you will do

  • Perform billing and budget tracking for assigned portfolio of clients
  • Be the first point of contact for issue escalations for your team of billing associates
  • Plan and implement quality assurance for all processes, make recommendations for improvement
  • Be a strategic partner to client teams, GCI Group Billing Manager, SVP of Client Finance, and Controller
  • Train and evaluate employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Prepare and lead regular trainings for internal client teams to educate and refresh employees regarding Billing procedures.
  • Work closely with client account teams to monitor client budgets, resolve billing issues, and ensure clients are billed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure your work and your team adhere to all timelines and required documents for end of period, financial and audit timelines.
  • Monitor and meet all policies regarding SOX and Audit requirements.
  • Collaborate across teams to improve current procedure including expanding polices and procedure documentation
  • Lead projects for improvement of processes, as needed
  • Provide backup as needed within the department
  • Assist management and client teams with regular and ad-hoc reporting

Who you will be

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including managing staff.
  • Bachelors degree, preferably in a Finance related field
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct reports.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.
  • Thrives under pressure, with the ability to handle multiple projects in a demanding, deadline-oriented environment all while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills with a flexible interpersonal style to clearly present ideas both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Account Principles and SOX Internal Control procedures.

The Billing Supervisor oversees all aspects of the day-to-day billing function for a major client in our portfolio.</p><p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p><p>Perform all aspects of; billing; WIP analysis and reconciliation; collections/AR reconciliation; AP and project closeout.</p><ul><li><p>Supervise/lead and delegate work to a team of billing professionals to meet the strict billing deadlines of the client</p></li><li><p>Ensures projects are set up and maintained in accordance with contractual terms and conditions</p></li><li><p>Maintain a master log of all invoices from receiving to payments dates</p></li><li><p>Prepares Client invoices in accordance with company billing policy guidelines</p></li><li><p>Reviews and processes project related vendor and sub-consultant invoices</p></li><li><p>Reconciles WIP on a monthly basis to ensure that revenues and billings are in alignment</p></li><li><p>Reviews Accounts Receivable to ensure timely payment of invoices</p></li><li><p>Preparation of ad hoc analysis and reports</p></li><li><p>Reviews projects regularly for closeout</p></li><li><p>Works closely with Project managers and support team to meet the overall financial objectives of the company and division</p></li></ul><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field</p></li><li><p>Minimum of six years of relevant experience is preferred with at least 3 years of experience in management or supervisory role.</p></li><li><p>Strong knowledge of public agency accounting procedures is preferred but not required.</p></li><li><p>Proactive in solving problems</p></li><li><p>Strong organizational skills</p></li><li><p>Strong communication skills</p></li><li><p>Detail-oriented</p></li><li><p>Experience in the Engineering/Architecture or Construction industry preferred</p></li></ul><p>Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner</p><br> STV Group, Incorporated New York NY
