Liberty Utilities Billing Department is responsible for insuring accurate bills to all customers on a timely basis. Billing Representatives complete a variety of clerical functions in support of this including completing orders, tracking customer usage, and verifying that accounts are correct.
Enter meter readings, processes corrected bills
Closes meter orders, office orders, charge work, and information orders;
Complete various notes from other departments;
Process Bank Drafts, service Plans, Budgets, CIAC charges, tax abatements
Research/monitor accounts using various departmental procedures to ensure accurate billing;
Process transportation customer and marketer billing using SMS System;
Provides usage information and reports to Gas Marketers and Gas Supply;
Handles migration of customers on and off Transportation;
Make outbound calls to customers for information and to schedule appointments;
Process Cash, checks and payments from vendors
Upload cycle information, customer changes and updates in SMS system
Transfer of daily and monthly files from server;
Process monthly queries to assist in month end close;
Demonstrates ethical, professional conduct at all times
Provides prompt, efficient, courteous service to both internal and external customers.
Maintains regular attendance in accordance with Company policies.
Complies with Company policies, procedures and practices.
Demonstrate a high standard of safety and is willing and able to comply with all safety regulations and Company safety policies;
High School diploma or equivalent GED
1 - 3 years Billing experience, Utilities a plus
Knowledge of Banner System
Billing and Credit Department procedures preferred
Able to pass Billing Representative Assessment Test
Proficient keyboarding skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact appropriately with others;
Strong Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Strong Mathematical skills;
Strong analytical and problem solving ability
Ability to work hours and days, including overtime, weekends and holidays, as necessary or desirable to meet business needs;
Concentrated attention level;
Ability to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision
Ability to prioritize job responsibilities, monitor and carry out several projects at once;
Ability to speak Portuguese/Spanish (a plus).
