Billing Manager

Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Billing Manager to join the Patient Financial Services team!

Description:

The selected applicant will be responsible for the supervision of patient financial services staff and duties relating to day-to-day operations in regard to customer service, claims processing, account follow-up, and resolution of patient receivables, cash and adjustment posting, refunds, referral of bad debt accounts to collection agency/attorney, resolving account questions/issues with collection agency/attorney and maintaining regulatory logs for governmental payers. Will coordinate PTO requests and make necessary staffing arrangements. Ensures staff are up to date on all requirements, regulations, education and policy/procedures. Will be responsible for developing employee evaluations, reviewing with director and then delivering to employee. Will meet with employee and follow hospital disciplinary process when employees do not perform to standards after discussing with director.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Bachelor's degree a plus with healthcare management experience

• Proven experience as a Billing Manager or similar role

• Strong knowledge of billing processes and procedures

• Proficient in using billing software and MS Office applications

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Hours:

Standard working hours are Monday - Friday 8AM- 5PM. Other hours may be needed for the benefit and requirements of the department.
