The primary responsibility is to obtain and track authorization/re-authorization and submit claims for new or existing patients, in accordance with third party payer policies, while following all regulations for providing hearing services.
Obtain authorization for hearing care services for new patients whose insurance requires authorization.
Responsible for tasks relating to billing, including confidential credentialing of new and existing patients; also gathers, enters and verifies pertinent information.
Obtain re-authorization for hearing care services for existing patients as their authorization expires.
Track authorizations for patients whose health care insurance requires it.
Communicate with authorization obtained, amounts, date ranges, and limits, as needed.
Communicates any difficulties obtaining insurance authorization.
Credentialing of new and updated insurance payers
Cash management reporting
Adheres to federal, state and local regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
High School Diploma or GED
2 years' administrative office experience
1 year insurance authorization/credentialing experience
1 year insurance claims experience
May travel up to 10%
Knowledge of insurance policies and Insurance claims processing
Excellent MS Office and data entry skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills
