The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The Billing Compliance Specialist will be responsible for leading the Department of Urology compliance program.
Responsibilities
Assess clinical documentation to confirm it supports medical services for appropriate billing of reported services.
CPT and ICD-10 coding will be assessed and monitored.
Observe and educate Coding Specialist team members and assisting with their coding inquiries.
Mentor physicians on how to bill for services appropriately.
Coordinate retrospective monthly billing compliance reviews of inpatient surgeries and evaluation and management services for the department.
Preparation of monthly summary reports for the Department Administrator and the Office of Billing Compliance.
Coordinate existing compliance with existing Departmental policies.
Assist with preparation, editing, and revision of provider encounter forms as necessary.
Perform related administrative tasks as directed by the Department Administrator.
Assist with providing education and teaching to faculty and staff.
Performs other related duties.
