The Billing and Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all billing is processed accurately and timely and that corresponding aging′s are kept current.

Minimum Education Required

Associate's Degree

Additional Shift Details

Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. This position is remote with availability needed for in-person meeting.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and commitment to, agency mission and values

  • Assist with processing bi-weekly and monthly Children's billing including Third Party Insurance Billing and Early Intervention Center Billing

  • Assist with recording/reconciling all applicable billing into the general ledger system and sub ledgers

  • Support Director of Children's Services including providing separate reporting requests and analysis as needed

  • Manage applicable billing Accounts Receivable aging's to ensure timeliness of payments

  • Manage Insurance Denials, adjustments and recoups

  • Communicate directly with billing parties when necessary

  • Verification of insurance eligibility for customers

  • Obtain insurance authorizations to provide services to customers

  • Monitoring and submission of treatment plans for customers

  • Coordination of secondary and tertiary insurance benefits for customers to ensure proper billing and subsequent payment for services

  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree required, bachelor's degree a plus

  • 3-5 years' experience in billing and accounts receivable.

  • 3-5 years′ Third-Party insurance billing and knowledge of payment application and collections is required.

  • Knowledge of general accounting principles

  • Microsoft Office proficiency including strong excel skills

  • Strong data entry and analysis skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to see, speak and hear

  • Ability to tolerate sustained periods of sitting

  • Ability to bend, kneel and carry items

  • Ability to enter data for several hours per day

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to communicate thoughts clearly in spoken and written English

  • Ability to analyze situations and use good judgment

  • Ability to remember both short- and long-term information

  • Ability to follow through on both verbal and written directions

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use appropriate software applications
