About the Role

The Information Technology Group (ITG) is a collection of people, processes and technology investments that are designed to achieve the business goals of FTI Consulting. The Finance Operations Engineer has an experienced background with a record of delivering complex technical solutions and supporting operations within defined periods. Solutions will leverage and integrate with existing corporate technologies, comply with security and financial regulations and will support strategic objectives while following corporate processes and methodologies, including SCRUM, PMO and ITIL processes. This position will report directly to the Director, Global Billing Program of Global Information Systems (GIS).

The Finance Operations Engineer will support global billing resources across all segments on an as-needed basis. This role will be part of a team of finance ops engineers led by the Global Billing Program Director. This role will primarily manage a MS teams billing support channel, prioritize and resolve billing related tickets in our ServiceNow (SNOW) system, assist with new biller training as-needed, perform biller functions if/when certain segments have attrition or simply need additional resources to work through a backlog. In addition to supporting biller resource needs, this role with work closely with the Global Billing Program lead to identify areas of improvement across all billing workstreams as required. Areas of improvement will focus on the entire project lifecycle with primary objectives to:

  • Reduce DSO and bad debt

  • Ensure timely, accurate and professional invoices are sent to clients

  • Reduce amount of time all professionals invest in project management administrative tasks

  • Ensure accounting has information needed to accurately record project revenue

Develop reports and dashboards so that all stakeholders have the information they need to make informed business decisions.

The objective of this position is the support of Unit4 (U4) ERP system with a specific focus on the billing workstream using the ITIL management framework that's comprised of incident, service request, recurring task, problem, change, and knowledge management. This role requires excellent diagnostic skills, ability to implement creative solutions and high-level communication skills.

What You'll Do

  • Respond to billers' support inquiries via email, MS teams messaging or video chat/phone or other remote access

  • Diagnose and effectively resolve technical issues which may include talking the client through basic problem-solving processes

  • Contribute to the development of test cases, training materials, and other content required to ensure successful solution adoption

  • Perform biller functions as/if-needed

  • Improve operational billing by evaluating and recommending process re-design, implementing changes, and contributing information and opinion to the development team

  • Perform code reviews, unit testing, and system testing. Help ensure all requirements have been addressed, functionality works, errors are handled properly, and documentation has been completed

  • Participate in the implementation of all modifications and changes to U4 ERP billing functions

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ Years' experience in the implementation, deployment and maintenance of ERP solutions.

  • Experience with ERP system implementations and a general wide-ranging technical expertise.

  • Experience with Unit4 ERP financial system a plus, but not required.

  • This role requires travel to FTI offices.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent Job experience in a law firm or other professional services environment preferred, but not required.

  • Help-desk experience a plus, but not required.

  • Experience with Unit4 ERP financial system a plus, but not required.

  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office knowledge (specifically, Outlook, Excel and Word) required.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Adobe PDF software required.

  • Impeccable attention to detail.

  • Dependable with excellent time management skills.

  • Proven track record for improving process efficiencies and solving problems.

  • Flexibility - ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks.

  • Proven ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment with diverse team members.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication with a strong ability to communicate and interface with business leadership

  • Experience with SharePoint 2010 sites and applications is a plus
