Crain Communications is seeking a Billing Analyst to perform order entry, invoicing for all sales activities, reconciliation of billing discrepancies and revisions of invoices. This position will also analyze order entry/billing data to uncover and resolve errors, as well as create best practices and propose enhancements and solutions to alleviate errors.
In addition, the role will collaborate with Sales, Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Production, Digital Ad Operations and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to and invoicing is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
This is a hybrid position and requires in-office work in downtown Detroit 3-days per week. Our office is located at 1155 Gratiot Ave, Detroit, MI 48207.
Responsibilities
Enter and maintain all sales orders including reviewing all insertion orders, purchase orders and contracts prior to entering the sales order into the billing system and validating that supporting documentation for order entry is accurate
Perform revenue validation activities for all invoicing activities.
Prepare, maintain, and reconcile weekly sales bookings reports.
Prepares monthly/annual ad-hoc sales reports and accounting close activities
Develop and maintain working knowledge of assigned publication(s) full product suite
Collaborate with IT and Financial Operations team members through participation in any billing system enhancements including testing and process documentation
File and maintain the central file for all order entry and sales invoicing in accordance with company policy
Basic Qualifications
Associates degree or equivalent work experience
Experience in analyzing information, issues, situations and procedures to develop effective solutions
Experience using order entry and/or billing systems in a high-volume, fast paced environment
Demonstrated ability to display excellent customer service to meet the needs and expectations for both internal and external customers
Demonstrated ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships in a strong team environment
Proficient with Microsoft, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and web based software
Ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, meet deadlines and have professional demeanor
Ability to work traditional office hours with the possibility of alternative work schedules to meet business needs
Preferences
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
2-4 years previous order entry/billing and/or accounting related experience (internships are considered as experience)
Experience in media or advertising industry
Knowledge of Adbase, Naviga Ad or similar tool
This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for overtime pay.
Pay Transparency Disclosure:
The estimated salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000.
The final salary offering will take into account a wide range of factors, including experience, accomplishments and location. The salary range provided should not be considered as a salary limit or cap. Environmental Demands
