The Operational Risk Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Operations on all aspects of operational risk and controls

  • Conduct operational assessments and formally document observations and recommendations

  • Challenge and re-perform Managers Control Assessment, control monitoring to ensure that controls are adequately designed and operating effectively

  • Support Operations during internal audits with deliverables and other tasks

  • Identify operational control improvements through process reviews, and oversight of key risk indicators and operational risk events

  • Help operations teams devise effective solutions to control deficiencies

  • Help to ensure end-to-end control effectiveness across country and regional CSC processing areas

  • Provide communications to operations teams to ensure awareness of key policies and strengthen the culture of controls

  • Monitor issues and corrective action plans to ensure complete and sustained resolution of issues

  • Communicate and validate expected operational controls by working with operations partners to confirm, test and challenge the controls

  • Interact with other areas of the bank on control topics

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Knowledge of TTS products: Cash Management, Trade and Commercial Cards

  • 3+ years of operations and/or operational controls experience

  • Operations and/or operational controls experience

  • Ability to analyze operational processes

  • Knowledge of Citi policies

  • Attention to details and record of delivering on commitments

  • Leadership and influence skills

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Spanish language ability preferred

The overall objective is to utilize in-depth AML knowledge to review, analyze and conduct effective due diligence and investigations on higher risk cases that may be a potential risk to Citi. Responsibilities: * Develop strategic framework for ACRM/GEDD team's priority initiatives in partnership with business senior leaders, maintaining very high focus on business value delivered to ensure AML benefit from our global footprint and scale in new and important ways. * Ensure strong execution and governance of strategic initiatives, track impact and communicate progress regularly and consistently with all key business stakeholders. * Develop and manage a standard set of tools and project management capabilities to track and manage partnership implementation activities. * Working collaboratively within team and more broadly across business/functional line management to assess complex issues, structure potential solutions and drive effective resolution within permissible statutory and regulatory frameworks. * Support the coordination of continuous improvements in procedures, processes and standards, across the Focus customer KYC operation. * Responsibility for supporting the budget planning, expense management and resource planning. * To provide strong ACRM support to ICG and TTS businesses by providing sound advisory support and oversight. * Partner with GEDD workstream managers to create and execute training strategies and plans for existing team members requiring expanded skills in products offered by the businesses supported by GEDD. * Coordinate workgroup activities related to the expansion of enhanced due diligence products to include multi-currency gateways and other KYC technology solutions. * Execution: Conduct AML Program Assessments of high-risk clients; as required. * Conduct investigations and research on potentially suspicious clients using various internal and external systems and databases * Document and report the review/investigation findings and prepare case files with the required supporting documentation * Summarize, in writing, clear and concise findings of the investigations * Advise senior management on next steps and provide recommendations on the next course of action (relationship retention, termination, Suspicious Activity Report (SAR)) * Manage risks by analyzing the root cause of issues and impacts to business * Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. Qualifications: * 6-10 years' of experience * AML Certification * Experience in conducting investigations, examinations, or audits of financial institutions * Ability to work in a team oriented environment * Effective verbal and written communication skills * Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills Education: * Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
