Job Description Currently seeking an LPN to to join an established manufacturing facility in Northeast Georgia The occupational health nurse practices within the workplace and contributes to the health and well-being of employees. The nurse is also a major part of the occupational/environmental health and safety team.

The occupational nurse works very closely with safety management and first and second-shift safety techs. Overseeing the responsibilities of techs where information to the employee is vital for their personal health and well-being. While also assisting the employee to learn how to care for themselves so they can continue to work while they are in the convalescent period.

The ability to be able to function in an autonomous nursing environment while under the direction of the medical director. The nurse also needs to be detail oriented and capable of accurately assessing workers' health and workplace hazard levels. Working within a multidisciplinary team.

Assisting with policy development when needed. Capable of conducting a wide range of risk and health assessments. Contributing to accident follow-up.

Occupational Nurses will maintain employee health records and perform pre-hire, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screening and alcohol testing. Developing return-to-work strategies for employees following injuries or for employees who have had a period of prolonged ill health. Keeping up to date with legal and professional changes associated with public health and occupational health and safety.

Performing dressing changes and keeping supplies stocked for different dressings ordered by the individual Work Comp Doctor. Maintaining a supply of various OTC medications, dressings, eyecups, and wash vaccines, and wraps as needed for repetitive motion problems as established in protocols approved by the medical director. Immunizing employees for various needs; including flu, hepatitis B, and tetanus, for the Georgia Division as established in protocols and approved by the medical director.
